Nice clean Best Western. Location is excellent, rooms are clean. Free wifi, tv and coffee.Breakfast from 6 till 10. Some rooms have bay views which are very pleasant. It is what you expect when you go with Best Western, just at Alaska prices.

Seward is gorgeous but small. Only a few hotels here, nothing fancy, and lots of B&Bs - and if you don't book early for summer, your choices go down and your rates go up. We live in Anchorage so, are very familiar with all this but, we decided to go visit friends down there spur of the moment, a week's notice. Paying over $300 for a decent but nothing special room was a lot of money but, as said, our own fault: it's all about timing and location. Try this in the off-season and you'll pay $110-$150 or so... The room had a small fridge, which is nice if you're staying for a few days and want to stock up on some snacks and drinks in the room. What we did greatly appreciate was the hotel's excellent location, right at the Alaska SeaLife Center and Seward's small downtown area, just a couple of streets but, cool places to visit, from the local Seward Brewing company with excellent beers and a restaurant to several coffee shops including the Ranting Raven, combo art/gift shop and coffee shop. The hotel itself had a nice spacious lobby and a good breakfast buffet. Front Desk staff was totally friendly and helpful, providing guests with tips on what to do, where to go etc. We paid a bit extra for a nice Bay view and enjoyed stepping out on the balcony and gaze out. Going to Seward? This is a good choice - but book early!

A comfortable room with an excellent view overlooking Resurrection Bay that provided a very peaceful downtown setting in a place where tourists and cruise ship passengers can overwhelm other parts of the city.

Good location and nice service. Room sizes vary, so if you are travelling with kids ask for the larger room when you reserve. Price/day is sky-high when compared to similar Best westerns during same peak summer month of July. And there is no parking available other than street parking. Smaller rooms have the sink outside the room which may be useful and help everyone get ready faster. Overall, if you HAVE to stay at Seward you may have no choice since the other hotels are even more expensive. Cheapest option may be to rent an RV from Anchorage for the stay at Seward. We saw at least 200 of them parked within walking distance from this hotel

We came in on the train and took the City shuttle to the hotel. It was just a block from the stop to the hotel. The hotel no longer offers free shuttle service, so you need to use the city service.
The hotel is very close to the Sea Museum and restaurants. It was very busy when we checked in (and we would expect that in May). They did not have adequate staff to handle the check ins. After waiting 20 minutes in line, we were told our room was not ready. We then waited for 3 hours for check in. We should have done a guaranteed early check in!
The room was clean but standard, basic Best Western. No view from our first floor room. The lobby was quite nice and the breakfast selections were good.
While waiting, I sat in the lobby part of the time. Housekeeping and desk staff were having a conversation at the front desk that should have been held some where else. I would not have been happy had I been the owner to have guests here their complaints and comments.
Overall, it was satisfactory. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Just nothing exceptional.
