Adams Street Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #31 of 46 Seward B&B and Inns
Reviewed August 7, 2013

The first thing I noted on Trip Advisor was that Adams Street was #8. This should NOT be the case! It should be the #1 place to stay in Seward!

We spent two nights at this B&B. Judy was kind enough to provide transportation for us from the docks, as we'd cruised in on the Celebrity Millennium. Our room... the Green room, was fantastic! The bed was super comfy and everything was meticulously clean. The room's layout was well-planned, as the sink is in the main room so that two people can simultaneously get ready for sight-seeing; one dressing in the room, the other in the shower/bath. This is a cozy place to stay, limiting guests and not over-crowding them. We both liked that.

In the evening, we had a lovely fire in the great room, which again... is very well-designed. One larger room is separated by the fire-place into a second room, allowing several guests to read (in a snuggly library!) or to take a nap while others visit. Really nice. Totally caters to guests' preferences.

Owner Judy was joined by husband Don the weekend we were there, and it was truly a joy to get to know this couple. They are native Alaskans who both have a deep love for the Seward community and are pleased to share that passion with guests. They told us of an amazing little spot to order out fresh halibut fish and chips and display really helpful Alaska magazines and trip-planners available for guest-use. Judy has competed and WON the Mt. Marathon race! Be sure to ask her about it during your visit! The mountain can be seen while sitting at the breakfast table!

And speaking of Breakfast? Day one was a lovely, light homemade blueberry coffee-cake, fruit, yogurt, and eggs. While sitting at the spacious table, one can look out over Resurrection Bay and watch boats enter and exit. The view of the mountains beyond is stunning. Day two was a traditional bacon/eggs feast with homemade blueberry scones to DIE FOR!!!

My poor husband caught a bug during his visit and was ill. Judy's patience/kindness towards our situation was most appreciated. While the rest of our group did some sight-seeing, my husband was able to remain at the house to rest, which certainly helped him recoup to enjoy the rest of our trip.

So, I hope my readers can see the reasons why this B&B should be #1 and not #8! Because this home is small, be sure to book ahead. You won't want to miss Adams Street B&B!!! Judy and Don... we'll be sure to book again on our next Alaskan odyssey!

Room Tip: Book ahead and mention BLUEBERRIES! Judy has great recipes for my favorite berries!

My Son and I travelled to Seward in late July to do a couple of days of fishing. Unfortunately we had boat issues on our first day out and only were able to stay the first of the 3 nights that we reserved. What a bummer! We were very excited to stay at the Adams street B&B, and were very disappointed to have to cut our trip short. The host, Judy, was very understanding of our situation and gladly refunded us the 2 nights that we could not stay.

Judy at Adams street B&B is fantastic! Very welcoming and hospitable. The house is right accross the street from the waterfont, within a few blocks of the Sealife center and downtown attractions. The B&B is very, very clean. We stayed in the yellow room, great views of the bay. While Judy warned us about occasional noise being accross the street from the Skatepark, we did not hear a thing! great room, we highly suggest this B&B. Thank you Judy, hope to stay with you again in the near future!

My husband and I have stayed at quite a number of B&Bs (within and outside US) - Adams Street B&B is the best of best, to sum up:
1. It's meticulously clean;
2. Judy makes the best breakfast (all homemade);
3. Very generous with fruits and beverages;
4. The owners (Judy and Don) are knowledgeable and fun to talk to.

If we were to return to Seward, we would make sure we go when Adams' is available. I recommend the place without reservation.

My husband and I were in Alaska visiting college friends about a month ago and the 4 of us traveled to Seward so that my husband and I could take one of the Kenai Fjords boating tours. We stayed here just 1 night - we arrived Saturday afternoon and checked out Sunday morning but our brief stay was fabulous. Judy and Don could not have been more welcoming. They greeted us with wine and appetizers when we arrived and gave us lots of great tips on what restaurants and bars to try out. Their B&B is just a short walk from the main street where all the action was so it was super easy to find our way. The accommodations were clean and so charming. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths - on of the baths is in the "master" bedroom so the other two rooms share. Our room had an ensuite bath and Judy told us that she did not rent the other room so that our friends could have the shared bath to themselves. Judy provided an amazing breakfast for us (at 6:30am no less!) and then graciously drove my husband and I to the docks to board our boat at 7am since our friends decided against the boat and slept in. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again if we are ever in Seward.

Room Tip: The green room is the room with the ensuite bathroom.

I've stayed here several times. Judy makes a full breakfast and the last time we had scrambled eggs, bacon, blueberries, strawberries and cantalope, scones and toast, three varieties of juice, tea and strong black coffee. She had wine and smoked salmon appetizer when we arrived in the evening. Her B&B is immaculate - a restored 30's bungalow. I would never stay in a hotel if Judy has a vacancy.

Just got back from a wonderful vacation in Alaska and one of the highlights of our trip was our stay in Seward with Don and Judy at their wonderful B&B.

We were a party of 6 adults and had all 3 rooms booked for the 2 days we stayed at the B&B. Perfect in terms of location, a stones throw from the sealife center and the Resurrection Bay, it was an idyllic 2 days in Seward.

What makes this B&B stand out is certainly the hosts and their hospitality. Judy is a great cook and there was hot/cold breakfast everyday. Judy was kind to accommodate our vegetarian needs. We had a rainy 9 hour cruise to see the NorthWestern glacier and had warm appetizers waiting for us once we got back. the rooms are very comfortable equipped with the comforts of being home. We appreciate the genuine hospitality.

Thanks Judy and Don! :)

I have stayed here several times over the years and it is always a great time. Very clean and with modern amenities in a historic building that still retains a bit of that charm. Always amazing breakfast options whipped up by Judy. Right downtown and within short walking distance of every attraction but the small boat harbor (fishing), and still not that far of a stroll (less than a mile down the bike path)...
