We are novice fishers and booked out of The Fish House. We were on the Aurora B for a 1/2 day cruise with Captain Adam, a pretty nice guy. We had a beautiful sunny day and each caught 1 silver salmon. The only real negative was the unfriendliness of the deck hand, she was almost rude and would not accomodate for pictures with the fish in the net or make any general conversation. It was uncomfortable being about her. However, we did not let her sour disposition ruin our trip.

As a Alaska resident and a regular on the charter boats out of Seward. I have found the new low, Aurora charters (boat Aurora)In 25 years of fishing out of Seward these guys are the absolute worst.
1. Crew does not want to be there, and it shows. They are in auto pilot, just going through the motions. Repeat customers are not the norm. they depend on first timers and tourist who do know any better.3. Nice avet reels , yet they froze drag adjustment knobs with epoxy, Not to mention just the bare minimum of line. What a waste of a nice reel. 4. Aurora management always has a excuses, someone else's fault (just read all exudes in previous reviews). I'm sure a rebuttal will fallow soon, yet you can't run away from your track record.

Everything went just right...From the Motel (Breeze Inn) to the office staff...Janet is a real jewell..
Great docks...clean....organized...cleaning station for fish...Very clean...vessels were well taken care of ...good crews...easy to get along with...one day on the vessel "C Hawk" with Capt.John Young...Knowledgable..knows where the fish live...Day and a half on the vessel "emerald Fjord" with Capt. John Hughes...Knows his fishing...I have been a deck hand on sport fishing boats in San Francisco area for 30 plus years...these guys know there trade...The processor we used was "J" dock...couldn't have been nicer...My friend that I went with is blind...Made no difference...Both boats are easy to get around in...Great boat handlers with good vessels..Roger & Wilson

We had our trip planned for several months, our party included my husband (skilled fisherman), parents (this was their first trip out), brother (novice fisherman), and myself (average skill). We had heard several things about the fishing being poor this season (no matter where you were), but decided it would be worth it no matter what.
Well we are all glad we went. Capt. Jon L. treated us very well, and we had a pretty successful trip in our opinions despite the tough season Captains are facing. Capt. Jon worked very hard at getting us on good fish, and making sure we caught our limit, Halibut & Silver Salmon (and not small fish either). We also had the chance to watch a few whales while fishing for Salmon in Resurrection Bay. He was very accommodating despite the mildly choppy seas. I know every member from our group would go again with Capt. Jon on the Orion given the chance. Capt. Jon is definitely an asset to a reputable charter service. Keep up the good work guys & gals!

The Capt was cocky and rude to his crew. The boat was cold and no heat in the guest area and not enough room for all the chartered people. The fishing was bad in comparison to other catches i seen at the processor. Way to expensive for what you get
