“Loved the 6 hour cruise -exceptional service and some great views even with bad weather”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

I took the 6 hour cruise on a day of very poor weather in June. The sights were absolutely spectacular and we saw lots of wildlife including orcas, hump back whales, porpoise and sea lions - so don't let the poor weather hold you back. The crew were just sensational - we had some pretty mighty waves and a lot of people including me were feeling seasick. The crew kept checking on each person individually, giving out water and ginger ale and keeping us up to date about the weather conditions, etc.

The holgate glacier is a pretty amazing sight and definitely worth the longer trip if you can spare the time.

The lunch is a simple wrap and a few snacks but for me that was perfect as it meant a lot more time sitting out on deck and enjoying the view.

If you combining this with the anchorage-Seward train, don't worry too much about connections as both services wait for one another when one is running late.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

This tour was the highlight of our stay in Alaska. We took the 11:30 National Park Tour (using the coupon from Northern Lights). It was amazing. Our Captain was Terry and it's hard to imagine a better guide. I usually get very sea-sick, but with the help of Bonine, I made it without incident. I did get queasy for a short period, but it all got better when we spotted a trio of hump-back whales that actually came and circled the boat for about 20 minutes. It was amazing! We also had an Orca swim right up to the boat. Other animals we spotted included the Stellar Sea Lion, Puffins, Gulls, Sea Otters, and Dolphins. The packed lunch isn't amazing, but it was just fine. We traveled with our three kids 7, 4, and 1 1/2. Our kids are very flexible and did quite well, but it may not be ideal for kids who need a regular nap time or have trouble in a confined area. It's definitely not a place where kids can run around.

“Northwest Glacier Tour”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

We loved this tour and saw so much sealife and beautiful scenery! The boat captain was very knowledgeable and spent time letting us view the whales, sea lions, otters and glaciers. There were no other boats on this cruise, so we had great views!

“Fox Island Dinner Cruise”
Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

My family and I, visiting from MA, took the 3.5 hour dinner cruise to Fox Island on Monday, July 1st. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very agreeable; cold, overcast, and drizzling rain. The captain was enthusiastic while sharing info about Seward, Resurrection Bay, etc. Unfortunately no otters, no puffins, no whales, and no porpoises, only eagles that were perched in the trees is what we saw for the whole cruise! The dinner was nice--- crab is served chilled with warm, drawn butter. The Prime Rib was hand-carved with a side of horseradish and the Salmon was a little overcooked for my taste. Small dessert bites and coffee with powdered cream was a little disappointing. A park ranger shares a slide show during dinner which was very informative about the local area. Altogether the weather really put a huge damper on the whole adventure-- it felt more like a ferry ride for a high priced dinner.

“Excellent tour to Resurrection Bay”
Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

We took the trip to Resurrection Bay, which includes a lunch at Fox Island. The food was the only less attractive point in this 4 and a half hour trip. The captain (Dale) did an excellent job. His comments were accurate, educational and with a great sense of humour. He spotted a whale, sea otter, sea lions, puffins and many other birds for us. Even if you would not see these animals, the trip is worth the time and money as the views are magnificent. You have to be a bit lucky with the weather conditions though, and these seem to be rather unpredictable. We were extremely lucky to have a bright and sunny day. Only point to improve: the lunch was not very good, my friend and I did not feel very well afterwards. other than that: perfect trip!
