As a long-time Alaskan with multiple visits to Seward over the years but little to rave about in terms of lodging experiences in that scenic community, we were thrilled to discover the Steller B&B. It was quaint, quiet, clean, cozy and comfortable. The craftsmanship, handiwork and artistic touches were evident in each of the individual private rooms and on the surrounding grounds. Being on the creek added an extra element of peace and relaxation. The hosts are extremely genuine, meticulous and gracious. If these qualities are important to you, check it out. We will certainly be back!!

This is not a Bed & Breakfast, should be called Motel & Muffin. Don't understand how they can call this a B & B. A travel agent chose this lodging, won't be using that agent again. We choose B & B's because we like interacting with the owner and other travelers. Room was nice but store bought muffins, orange juice & yogurt are not my idea of a breakfast. I'm sorry that I didn't read the reviews previously, I would have had the agent canceled my reservation.

Our room was comfortable and clean - a little noisy with neighbors leaving early but otherwise peaceful, friendly hosts.

Although it's not exactly B&B atmosphere but more of a cabin lodge, the rooms are relatively newly remodeled and repainted, and spacious enough. But the mattress is not very comfortable. Bathroom is new and super clean too.

The owner is super nice and friendly. We had different plans among the group on our last day stay, but with only one car, Polly is nice to offer and give us a lift to town after we checked out.

Had an excellent experience staying at this bed and breakfast.

Location
The B&B is located 5-7 minutes drive to the port area where you take off for fishing trips or cruises. It's also about 10 minutes drive to a nearby glacier. It's tucked away off the main road. There's a little brook close by. If you like peace and quiet this is a good choice. As you leave the B&B on Exit Glacier Road and about to turn to Seward highway, look up to one of the trees and there is a bald eagle's nest with a family of eagles in there.

Host
The owner Patty is very friendly and helpful. Gave us plenty of information and tips to save money on our trips. When I asked her where I could go to buy a raincoat for our fishing trip, she told us not to bother and loaned us two she had in her shed. Even Invited us over to a little campfire gathering she was having on one of the nights we were there. Just went out of her way to make two strangers feel welcomed and comfortable.

Rooms
We stayed in one of the premium rooms. It looked recently remodeled so everything was clean and new. There's a fridge, coffee/tea. There were 2 beds in our room and both were comfy. Bedroom and Restroom interior was nicely done. Our view out back window was trees and shrubs. We could also see the brook. I loved the many variety of flowers the owner has planted around the building.

The price is very reasonable compared to the other options in the town. Would highly recommend this establishment if you're planning a trip to Seward.

I'm really not sure why this place has several glowing reviews. As one person said, it's not really a B&B...more like a wood cabin/motel. The place appears to be new-ish, but cheaply done and not many frills. There's no TV and the beds are small and uncomfortable. The thing that really killed this place for me, though, was that you can hear everything your neighbors are doing. Our neighbors checks in close to midnight and made several trips in and out of their room for luggage, etc. and it kept us up much longer than we planned.

Steller Bed and Breakfast is a great place! We stayed for 3 nights in one of the standard rooms so we shared 2 bathrooms with 2 other rooms ~ I was a little concerned about sharing the bathroom before we got there but it ended up working perfectly. The bedrooms are cozy, quiet, and very clean. The bathrooms are immaculate and have lovely tile work. We enjoyed having the tasty muffins, OJ, coffee, and yogurt left in our room the day before because it allowed us to get up whenever we wanted. Patty and Belinda are very friendly and easy to chat with.
