“EXCELLENT Cabins!!”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

We spent 2 nights at Abode Well Cabins at the end of August and the accommodations were wonderful!!! The cabins were cozy and clean and sleeping with the rain hitting the tin roof was the best nights sleep on the trip. As an Alaska Travel Specialist I would recommend these cabins to anyone who who wants to experience the "Real Alaska".
The dog sled tour at Ididaride was fabulous too! Don't miss it!!!!

Best cabins we've ever stayed in. Cheaper than staying in town, but only 5 minutes away. No reason to stay in town, it's better to be isolated a little bit off in the woods in a cozy cabin. Clean and gorgeous, fluffy comforters, a little table, a grill and fire pit outside, coffeemaker and a tea maker. We had a small bit of trouble with out toilet, handled instantly by the staff. Also check out the Ididaride sled tours run by the same people.

Rain on the roof, a warm bed in the forest: heaven.

I would highly recommend the Abode Well cabins to anyone staying in the Seward area. We were there 8/29 - 9/2. My husband thought it would be cool to stay in a cabin in the woods so I found these, and we were both very glad. They are very convenient for driving into town, but at the same time they have the feeling of being in the woods. They also have some restaurants on Exit Glacier road so you don't even need to drive into town if you don't want to. You would hardly know they have a dog kennel so close by. The cabin was beautifully furnished, very clean, and made me wish we had one at home to go back to. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker, and tea maker in our room. They don't have a television in the room so you really will be able to relax and get away from it all. Every evening, my husband and I just listened to the local classic country radio station and played cards or just listened to the rain drops on the roof. There is a common-use cabin with a microwave, coin-operated washer & dryer, and free wi-fi. FYI, you'll want to bring your own hair dryer, but other than that they have everything you need. If you're in Seward then you have to stay here.

The Abode Well cabins really exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with my parents and family friends from Spain and rented three cabins - all three couples were delighted with their cabins. The cabins were cute and clean and had plenty of space, including a small sitting area with a table and chairs and a coffee maker. Just perfect for a couple of days in Seward! The location is also good - just a couple of miles in off Exit Glacier Road. That made getting into town for an early Kenai Fjords tour easy. The service at check-in was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed staying at these cabins and will come again!

Room Tip: Bring your own shampoo (soap is provided) and hair dryer

We were pleasantly surprised at how quaint these cabins were. Very clean and well kept. We slept 3 adults easily. Had coffee on the porch each morning and sat by a campfire each night. The office with washers and dryers was an added bonus! We went on a tour of Iditarod and met the manager of Abode Well Cabins. She was a real joy! We will stay here again on our next visit!

The Seavey family provides a great place to rest and rejuvenate after exploring the Seward area. The tour of the kennels was very interesting and fun--how can meeting world class athletes and holding their puppies not be fun? The cabin was incredibly clean and the workmanship was impressive. There is a perfect amount of space and vegetation between each so you feel like you've entered your own little haven in the woods. Some people have "complained" about the dogs, but we found their nightly howling period hauntingly perfect for the Alaskan woods. We'd highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to be in Alaska without staying at a "typical" hotel.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the harbor sit these beautiful cozy cabins surrounded by foliage. Owned by the famous Seavey dog sled family, we stayed in cabin #3. With a small fridge and coffeemaker, there is a microwave in the office/laundry room to use just a few yards away. We did hear the 85 dogs bark at the kennels thru the woods on occasion during the day, but was absolutely not bothersome. A free kennel tour of the Iditarod dogs is included and was a real treat.
Quiet, clean, comfortable in a beautiful cozy setting, we would stay here again. If you don't need or want to be in the middle of the hotel/shops/food downtown scene, have a car and some breakfast/lunch food supplies, then this is perfect.
