Alaska Saltwater Lodge Small Group Whale Watching, Wildlife & Glacier Tour

Capt. Tanya and First Mate Clay - excellent guides and naturalists. We saw scores of kinds of birds, sea lions and harbor seals, humpbacks, porpoises, several glaciers - Holgate Glacier, wow! This is the best tour - small group, best value.

A small boat, but enough room for only 15 passengers, fantastic and informative crew and that's before we even talk about the sea life. Magnificent humpbacks flapping tails and breaching, graceful orcas, porpoises racing our boat, harbour seals posing for our cameras it goes on and on.Then the glacier moving slowly through calved ice to get a close up view of the breathtaking wall of ice. An unforgettable day an unforgettable experience. Thank you.

This I a lovely trip and we truly enjoyed every hour of day.
We were very lucky to see 8 humpback whales doing bobble fishing, a jumping humpback whale, seal inions, dolphins and much more.
The glacier was also amassing.

We enjoyed that it was a small boat where the guide had lot of time talking to everybody.
I will defiantly recommend the trip.

This was an excellent trip and well worth the extra price compared to a big boat tour. Firstly the smaller size allows everyone to get a good picture of the animals instead of having to fight for a good spot. The food and refreshments provided were sufficient for the trip. The best part of it all was that we saw 3 types of whales, porpoises and different types of birds and starfishes. We also spent almost 1/2 hour near a glacier hearing it calve. The advantage of a smaller boat was that they were able to follow whales for a longer time and change the route of the trip based on where the whales were present. We spent almost 15 minutes just watching humpback whales jump and flap around and then the hosts went out of their way to follow some fin whales deep into the ocean. Did not feel at all the trip was too long and at the end it felt well worth the money spent. The smile on the face of my parents was well worth the expense.

I would do this tour again and again!! The crew were delightful and worked hard to get us up close and personal to the wildlife and glaciers. Ultimately, we found ourselves in the midst of a pod of 10 whales with at least one calf. There are no words to describe it!!
