We stayed 10 days at the Kamehameha . The location is perfect - the breakfast has everything you might want and the service from all staff was excellent. Central position - walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Room Tip: Out room was facing the street - we loved watching the bustle but could get noisy early in the morni...

We had a great time at the Courtyard King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. The resort was renovated recently and it shows. My kids loved the museum they had in the hotel, giving guests a glimpse of Hawaiian history. The beach at the hotel is rather small but it is good for getting a quick dip and is definitely kid friendly. We had a water view room and loved the view when relaxing on the patio.

The pool is very nice and just big enough for the resort's size. There is a good sized hot tub and an outdoor bar and grill that has pretty good food. Resort prices, but that's to be expected.

I love the shops in the hotel and the nice lounge chairs on the beach where you can relax and get service from the pool bar!

So why 4 stars? Two things. The main hotel restaurant was not that great. I'm hopeful that Honu's will be better when we return. The parking charge is steep and not included for Marriott's top loyalty club members. But that does not deter me from saying that I'd stay here again in a second.

Mahalo to the staff for helping us have a great visit to the big island!

Room Tip: The hotel has two buildings. One is closer to the beach but farther from the front desk and hotel en...

The location of tghis hotel is perfect, as it is close to shops, cars and restaurant. Within walking distance you can find a Burger King and a Longs Drug Store. The hotel name is after the king of Hawaii and in the loby of the hotel for those that like history like me, is a detailed explanation of the arrival of the British, in particular Capatin James Cook. For those Gamefishing nuts like me the lobby of the hotel also has a HIBT (Hwaiian International Billfish Touranement) trophy cabinet. The hotel has a pool with beach access as well and is close to lots of venues where you can book any tour under the sun, wether it is watching a sunset ontop of the world tallest Mountain, Mount Manua Kea wher you will see the Internation Asrtonomical observatories such as Keck 1 and Keck 2, Gemini and Subaru, scuba didving at Kealakekua Bay, where Captain James Cook was murdered (here you will find an obelisk expalining the history of this site) to night diving with Manta Rays, to taking a helicpoter tours over Mount Killawheu, where you will see active lava spewing out of the cone of the volcano. Parts of the The big Island, known as Hawai'i are dotted in previous volcanic eruptions.

Room Tip: choose a room looking out onto the beach

My sister and I stayed in this hotel for a week. The room was very clean and the cleaning ladies always did an exceptional job. The hotel pillows were awesome too :) We rented a car in the big island and parked our car in the hotel for $15/day....they have plenty of parking. Every room has a balcony...we faced the street which was okay with us. The hotel has a pool (adjacent to two restaurants in the premises) and has a small beach. You can rent snorkeling gear on the beach and swim into the open water to view the coral and fish. We booked the luau at this hotel because we heard a lot of wonderful things about it from several tour guides....we had a great time! The food was excellent and the dancing was pretty cool. This hotel is located near many restaurants, walmart, and target. The staff was very helpful.

My husband and I stayed here in July. We really liked the room, the beds was very comfortable, the partial view was quite good (glad we didn't pay to upgrade)We were in the west tower on the 5th floor(top floors are newer and better).I must say that the temperature in the room was perfect at all times, kept cool with a silent air conditioner. The amenities were exceptional. We booked a parasail right in the hotel lobby. We attended the luau which is held at the hotel and were thoroughly entertained.
We asked the cleaning lady were we might find a laundry mat and to our delight there was guest laundry facilities( which I would never have found because it is behind an unmarked door next to the concierge)

Room Tip: Rooms on the west tower have better view. Pick the top two floors not near the elevator.

The service is outstanding. The room is beautiful they all have balconies. I can see the ocean view the pool and there is an area just for swimming in the ocean. The pool was great and the hot tub was fabulous.
If you are going there it is a must see The Luau the Hawaiian dancers, watching the right way to open a coconut. All you can eat. Taking a pig out of the ground and than serving it. The food is very delicious. Just what a great fun time we had there.
I had no problems bringing my service dog with me.
Kona is a place for all tourist to go.
Courtyard King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel is the place to stay.

Room Tip: All rooms have balconies. The west side facing the ocean and side views of the luau is the best.

Very nice hotel with lots to do right on the beach. Beautiful water in the cove. Snorkelled and hired paddle boards, parasailed and just relaxed. Awesome. Hotel was nice, friendly staff, didn't get a sea view but still nice overlooking the streets watching the action while we chilled with a drink on the balcony. Pillows were too soft for us as were the beds but very clean. Where the ice machine was kept there was a smell of mold every time we walked past so maybe this needs to be remedied but other than that all good. Going to lu'au tonight for our final night.
