My husband and I stayed at the Ranchview Cottage at Silver Oaks Ranch for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Amy and Rick were very gracious hosts, and had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in the refrigerator along with chocolate covered macadamia nuts. They gave us suggestions for places to eat and things to do.
The Cottage has a large bathroom, king size bed, full kitchen, dining area and living room. The loft had 2 twin beds, ideal for small children. There is a common area between the two cottages with a washer, dryer, and everything needed for the beach: towels, coolers, boogie boards, fins, masks and snorkels.
After a busy day on the water, or touring Kailua-Kona (which was hot and humid), it was wonderful to retreat up the mountain to the Ranch and sit on the lanai, enjoying the view of the coastline and ocean while being cooled by the breeze. We enjoyed sleeping at night with only a fan, no need for air conditioning.
It was fun to see and pet the animals. Amy and Rick keep a horse, chickens (no roosters), miniature goats and donkeys, and cats as pets. Also meandering around the property are wild pheasant, wild turkeys and a variety of birds.
We had a relaxing, wonderful vacation and will definitely return to Silver Oaks Ranch.More
