We found TK Noodle House while driving in Kona, looking for a new lunch stop. It is located on Hanama Place, off Kuakini Highway, across from Big Island Grill. What a delightful surprise! Open, airy, well-lighted. Friendly and accomodating staff. Excellent selection of Southeast Asian-Pacific Rim Fusion dishes -- noodles, salads, hot pots, soups, and appetizers. Very generous portions at reasonable prices!
An asian market is set up in a wing of the restaurant, where they sell all the ingredients used in their dishes,. Good assortment of shelf-stable ingredients and spices, several freezer chests with imported perishables. Chef Keosavang is happy to share his expertise for your home-cooking efforts :)
In the evenings hot pot dinners are available in yet another section of this restaurant. You can order a variety of ingredients to cook in boiling soup broth at your table. This is called "steamboat" in Thailand and "Hot Pot" in China. Very delicious and very healthy. We will definitely make this restaurant a regular stop for lunch or dinner.
