Beautiful beach, soft sand, clear water and great snorkeling. There is no shade, however, so wear your sunscreen and bring your hats! We saw sea turtles and many beautiful fish. We were there during the winter, so one day the waves picked up and it was a little rough. If you only go to one beach, this is the one!

I give credit to MoccasinMike for his great directions! The entrance is located between mile markers 88 and 89, across the street from Veteran's Cemetary.

Worth a visit to this Gorgeous area. Nice place to play in the waves, easy drive in. Less crowded off to the left. Rocky areas where you sit/sun. Parking lot will be full by 11am even during the week. Only shade is up top by picnic table. Clean Restrooms. Nice.

Nice little beach with white powdery sand, quite easy to get to from the main road, only a few minutes from Kailua

A bit of surf makes it good for boogie boards, but nothing too exciting

Word of warning, so shade, but toilets nearby

Good find

What a great little beach, the sand is powdery soft and it has a nice break albeit it is a little close to shore. Not so good for little ones when the surf is up however, no snorkelling usually as there is too much surf. Bring an Umbrella if you want shade as there is none. Washrooms, and some parking along road. Best to go during the week as weekends are busy.

Kua Bay is my favorite big island beach. Easy to get to, clean and even a decent view of Maui in the distance.
