Kua Bay is THE beach to visit! We love(d) Hapuna Beach, but THIS one is even better with the warmest blue waters, beautiful sand (but not HOT like Hapuna), and great waves for a 10 & 6 year old to boogie board and snorkel all day! Beautiful and unforgettable beach day. Tips: Get there early to claim your space on the sand, because it can get get crowded; Buy an umbrella (ABC Stores) if you want/need shade; Buy a raft and float alllll day! The best! :)

We arrived before ten and nabbed a table under a tree. There are only three such tables available so bring shade if you'd like a break from the sun. The water is like velvet, and the swells are small and fun to hang out in. The beauty of the bay is unparalleled! The sand is soft, white. The paved road is easy to drive on and the parking seemed okay in the morning but was packed by the time we left. People were leaving though so spaces were available. This beach is a great option close to Kona, only about 30 minutes away. A nice drive as well. We really loved it!

This beach will charm you by its beauty however use caution as there are shore breaks - turtles come and feed and the area - DONT TOUCH THEM its illegal by law and turtles are protected here. They are located just north of airport, small parking spots but u can park along the road and walk, it gets pretty crowded and not a lot of trees so bring your own shade and plenty of sunscreen. Easy access to restrooms and showers

Kua bay has beautiful fine white sand and Caribbean like water. Get there early for parking (gates open at 9am). Turtles feed on some of the rocks in the area and there can be a shore break sometimes. There is a mix of tourists and locals here and sometimes you'll see clueless people surrounding turtles and trying to touch them. These Hawaiian green sea turtles are protected...get away! For the person who is a stronger snorkeler, they can go out to the north around the point and there is is a great reef there with abundant fish. I saw a huge Moray Eel there and giant fish. There is a strong surge here sometimes and I can't emphasize enough only strong snorkelers should go around the point.
Easy access to the beach, showers, some tables, and restrooms. No trees or shade so bring your own.

This beach is extremely picturesque and very close to Kona (just north of the airport) so it is always pretty crowded. But there is more than enough room for everyone.

This is the last beach before the exclusive Hualalai Four Seasons and the ultra-exclusive Kukio, so you get the beautiful views that they get - for free!

Be careful on days with waves. This is definitely a shorebreak area. But on nice days it's a great place to swim.

This is as beautiful as it gets!

There are restrooms and showers, but no other services. Closed on Wednesdays.
