Owner description: Voted the Best of West Hawaii since 2000 , the Island Breeze Lu'au and is located on the shores of Kamakahonu Bay and the historic grounds of the Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. An evening filled with delicious food and authentic Island entertainment. Highlights include the re-enactment of the arrival of Kamehameha I aboard an outrigger canoe, the unearthing of the imu (underground oven), preliminary arts and crafts where you have a chance to meet the performers, a 22-dish buffet, an open bar and the finale of the Siva Afi - spectacular Samoan Fireknife dance.

“Fantastic and Fun Evening!!”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

We can't say enough great things about the Island Breeze Luau. We booked them for our wedding reception with a group of 23 and what an amazing night for our guests!! This was the first luau and first trip to Hawaii for many people that came to our wedding, and they are all giving it a huge thumbs up. From the hula lessons, tattoos, Imu ceremony and the arrival of the Royal Court via an outrigger canoe at the beginning of the night, through to the excellent luau dinner and spectacular show (complete with fire dancers!!) - this was an evening we will never forget. Island Breeze made our wedding day complete with their amazing customer service, wonderful show, fantastic food and over-all spirit of Aloha for the Big Island. We would definitely recommend this luau for your trip! Special thanks and hats off to Nani and Leina'ala for helping me with all the details and coordination of our wedding guests. It was a wonderful pleasure to work with the both of you.

“A fun evening”
Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

A fun evening absorbing local culture. The event is well organized with entertaining demonstrations and activities before dinner. The show after dinner is lively and enjoyable. It is worth paying extra for priority seating, which allows you to bypass the entry line and gives you seating directly in front of the stage as well as first access to the buffet.

“A nice evening”
Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I got the special seating and we feel it was worth it. We got in faster without waiting in line and had seats right up front. The food was plentiful and tasty and the dancers were very good. It was my wife's first luau and she had a wonderful time.

“Spectacular and fun!”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

This was our first Luau, we had to catch a plane home right after it finished and what a great time we had! The Luau was a busy fun energetic event, we were surprised and delighted to find it was not only Hawaiian but inclusive of several differing Polynesian cultures. The live music was great as was the food, this was a honeymoon trip and we wanted it to be very special, I can't think of a better way to finish a trip to Hawaii, we will remember this for years to come! The only Cons I have are the upsell items, but for an event like this it is to be expected, the one that is a must is the 'Hanohano option' the seating is all right in front of the stage and you did not stand in the long line to get in, it was a very big line and with only the two of us was worth it.
