“fine dining & browsing”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

The outdoor restaurant serves fresh-daily foods and the menu depends on what the farmers are offering that morning. The food was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere unmatched. Not all of the galleries are open every day, and many close early; but it is still worth the visit to see what Hawai'i looked like 100 years ago. Shopkeepers were extremely friendly and were happy to tell us about their craft.

“Nice Village”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

If you don't have time to drive to Hawi, Holualoa is just as nice with some nice antique and artsy type stores.

“Such a pretty little village”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

Sometimes it's nice to get away from the busy tourist areas and just enjoy a quiet afternoon stroll. Holualoa is the perfect place to take that break. Friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere make it fun to browse the shops and galleries. Prices are reasonable for picking up a little unique gift to take home. Grab a cold drink at the little market in the village and sit a bit on the benches while you take in this lovely place. Wish we could have stayed longer!

“A fun little get away to art & quiet.”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Walk the little village and find some art treasures, get a fish taco or eat at the one restaurant that serves up some yummy local food.
Buy a beautiful gourd or buy some of the last pieces of Darrel Hill's art work. He started there!
