“Night in kona”

Went looking for a nice dinner and found it here. We had three different grilled fresh fish and they were all prepared and cooked to perfection. Twice baked potato and the baked potatoes were excellent and squash and carrots melted in your mouth. $$$

“A great historic property”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

We had a nice meal each time we ate here. We always ate in the club portion, open air, either at the bar or on the patio. They serve local beers which are excellent. The bar tenders and wait staff are friendly. Surprisingly, it seemed to have as many locals than tourists sitting around the bar.

“Best meal and view of our trip”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

We ate dinner here one evening while staying in Kailua. The food and view are unbeatable. We ate in the restaurant for dinner service (as opposed to the less formal cafe service they offer, although nothing in Hawaii is actually formal, thank goodness). Our waiter was exceptional, and based on our preferences he offered things that weren't on the menu. Ask for the calamari strip appetizer done Cajun style - it is fantastic! My steak was perfect, my husband had the Ono catch of the day- perfect- and our son had the steak and shrimp scampi - also perfect. Really great mai tais too! A sunset view to die for as an added bonus.

“Classic Aloha Dining”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Wonderful memories created at this old time favorite for many guests. The mai tai was no ka oi. We have eaten in the cafe and dining room, both good. The dining room gives the royal treatment and fine service. We enjoyed our selections, mahi, mahi ( grilled & macadamia crusted) calamari appetizer, and tomato basil salad. It is pricey for our budget, but worth the experience and we will return.

“Over rated !!”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Food was over priced and we were unimpressed. Party of 6, 4 had scampi , which was served with mashed potatoes, they were not impressed at all. Worst Mai Tai I have ever had. Cobb Salad was good, and my husband enjoyed his shrimp and calamari combo.
