Our resort charged $35 per person for breakfast so it was definitely out of our budget for our 6 day trip. After looking at a few guide books, the Big Island Grill was one of the reasonable value restaurants for breakfast.
The first day we went was on a Tuesday morning and it was not very crowded and we were sat immediately. Service was good and the food was a pleasant surprised. I got the Hawaiian French Toast for my toddler and even my husband loved it - the coconut syrup was killer!
We went one other time but on the weekend and we had a slight wait - because the restaurant was so busy, there was a longer wait for the food and getting served. We weren't in any hurry so it was alright but it was a noticeable difference in service from our first visit. The food was still good - I elected to get the Sai-min and it was delicious and large!
For those on a relative budget (for 3 people breakfast cost around $30) I would highly recommend Big Island Grill!
