My friends got some bad fish here and were ill.
I did not like the food or atmosphere. Haven't gone back...

We are so happy that they are finally open on Sundays for breakfast. The lunches and dinners were good but we always enjoyed the breakfasts at Big Island Grill. We live in Hilo and couldn't always make it when they wereopen. Now we can but there still is a wait, it is that good. Portions are large, well prepared and delicious. The pork chops with eggs came smothered with onions and mushrooms but also side of rice. Delicious. We highly recommend the Big Island Grill for lunch and dinner but we really enjoy the breakfasts.

Don't know why this place got any good reviews. The food looked like something served at a cheap old folks home and tasted even worse. Greasy, saucy, stale and fried. McDonald's would have been better and I don't even like fast food.

Never disappointed in anoint of food & quality of food. Friendly staff, very local restaurant. Parking can be an issue but never so bad that we didn't stop. The only negative is that they only serve breakfast on Sundays & have short hours. Only a negative foe the customer however nice to see the employees getting time to spend with family!

We weren't going to duplicate any restaurant on our trip, but did go here for dinner and again for breakfast. Our dinners were wonderful, much to choose from including authentic Hawaiian, and we tried the combo plates. A good value, and wonderful, teriyaki beef and chicken katsu and pork, with very good service. Based on that visit we went for our last breakfast in Hawaii. Again the food was very good (great coconut syrup), but the service was only so-so. It was at the end of the breakfast shift, and not that busy, which is why we considered it to be slow (although still friendly). Would definitely recommend, just don't go if you are in a hurry!
