Quinn's has been around since 1979, and the current owners have had it for over 20 years. It is a favorite of locals, and we go regularly. We avoid the front air conditioned part and head for the back patio, which, as has been pointed out, is essentially a covered area next to landscaped greenery. For me it has a relaxing ambiance, but is definitely not fancy with plastic chairs. Still, we come for the food. Back when I was driving tour boats for a living here I'd drop off fresh ono when we caught it and use the money to buy new lures and line. They go through about 1000 lbs of ono a week, or so I once read. So they know what they are doing with ono, and their fish and chips are a local favorite. You can substitute a salad for the chips. Also check out their specials; their steak and ono dinner for $24 comes with a salad and your choice of sides such as linguini or Quinn's potatos. I also enjoy their sandwiches. Get a draft Longboard (locally brewed) and relax. Don't come here for your ultimate romantic Kona dinner, but do come for fine food and friendly service. Our favorite server is Lisa, who has been there for years, and worth asking for. They're now on FB; perhaps one day they'll provide wi-fi. You can park across the street at the King Kam and get validated.
