We arrived late for the lunch buffet, and the owner offered to have anything we wanted made up fresh, which was much appreciated. What was left on the buffet was adequate for our needs, and a good price ($10.50). Don't think I would pay more for this, even when it is hot and fresh. Didn't try the menu items, they might be higher quality. The decor is older and tired, and one end of the buffet looks out onto a cluttered storage area, unappealing to say the least. The owners were friendly and did their best to accomodate us. The location is small in a quiet mall complex, off Palani Road and Kuakini Hwy.

Just ate there yesterday and I must say despite the negative reviews this place was pretty good! The buffet was delicious. There was some items I wouldn't have expected at a Chinese restaurant like French fries and fried chicken but I think it's to satisfy the children when they go to eat with their parents. The building does look old but the inside looked like a typical Chinese restaurant. Also, we went right before lunch and there was a lot of room but at lunchtime the place was full.

This is an easily overlooked small Kailua-Kona restaurant off the beaten track in a small mall at the intersection of Ali'i Drive and the Kuakini Hwy (the road to the airport). But it is wonderful in many respects. We ordered the fresh fish of the day -- today was Ono, but it may change daily. In talking with the hostess we learned they bring in fresh local fish every day, often spear caught. We watched them fill the crab and lobster live tank (but know that these are not local). Our fish was absolutely superb, simply steamed with a black bean and scallion sauce. We have fresh local green beans with spicyy diced pork as one side dish and the char shiu pork noodles as the other. They have a compact but complete Chinese menu including Peking duck, crispy fried chicken, many noodles and vegetable dishes. Prices are very very reasonable and the staff is incredibly charming, although frankly it is obvious that English is their second language. We have seen the old critical reviews and suspect perhaps the buffet in prior years was below people's expectations (although it looked fine to us), so please do give this a try, order from the menu and have a great fresh island meal.

After reading the poor & terrible reviews I felt I needed to review this place...in their defense.

This is what you call an authentic & real Chinese Food Resturant, if you want chain-store food, go to Panada Express ("McDonald's of Chinese Food").

I have eaten here numerous times and have never had a bad meal, eaten the buffet several times, and never had a problem. Then again, I really like authentic, not that processed crud you get elsewhere!

There is a lesson here for visitors...Hawaiian Resturants and & businesses do things different then the mainland, our expectations are different, and we do not have to have the Resturants in "antiseptic institutional" condition to be clean, we live here and it shows. This Resturant is clean, albet in an old building, but it is clean! Carpets are stained, but they are clean...if you want spotless, goto the Hilton-Waikoloa, or Mauna Lani. You will pay at least a $100 more, but it will be CLEAN!

Ok...I am done with my rant, really try this place and you will like the food...the people are nice if you smile and don't look critically at everything...live Aloha!
