Breathtaking view from the jacuzzi right off the ocean. I took my family here for Christmas vacation & it was absolutely beautiful. The people were so friendly I would definately recommend staying at the Kona resort. We were ten minutes from the beaches & we were actually swimming with sea turtles.

We recently stayed at the Kona Coast Resort for the first time over New Year's week & really enjoyed the resort. We especially liked the pool with the restaurant/bar near the water's edge. Beautiful place for sunsets. The rooms were lovely & the grounds were very well maintained. The pools are not heated but the hot tubs were enjoyable. Of note: shampoo, conditioner & lotion is not provided in the room. You must go to the office & ask for it. Tide detergent for the washing machine was $1.59. Wyndham gives you extra boxes for free. With the washer & dryer in the unit, it would save the resort more money on housekeeping labor to provide soap for the units to do their own towels mid-week. We enjoyed being close to the Keahou Shopping Center, Sam Choy's, & the movie theatres. While we were there, we were told that Wyndham had purchased the resort from Shell. Maybe things will change.

Room Tip: Bldg. 20 has incredible sunsets.

Just what you want for a winter adventure. What's better than temperatures around 80 degrees and soft ocean breezes. The resort staff is very friendly. The grounds are lovely. While there is no easy beach access, the view makes up for this. The units are large, however the beds could be improved. It is a great location to adventure through the largest Hawaiian island. Must see - the volcano. Even when it's not erupting the history is amazing. Try to catch Dr. Jagger's lecture. Must eats - Hawaiian Style Cafe, Waimea (nothing beautiful but great, local food).

This resort is right across from the Keauhou Shopping Center and yet you can walk to the State Beach Park. If you don't like staying in busy Kona downtown, this is a great place for you. It's right on the scenic Alii drive. Comfortable bed, clean facility but quite dated decor and finishes. Overall good experience. The restaurant is not really my cup of tea. The waitress there needs improvement.

On reasonably short notice we booked six nights at the Kona Coast Resort, which we found to be great value and had wonderful service. The nice lady at the desk gave us an upgrade when she heard the reason for our trip: our aunt had recently passed away and we needed time to chill. We found the two-room ground-floor condominium comfortable. The service at KCR was outstanding: we had some water spots on the rug; I called housekeeping and them came and cleaned them up immediately. Shopping is a ten minute walk away, and the Saturday morning farmer's market at the Keauhou Shopping Mall was outstanding. You can't barbecue fresh ahi on a community grill at the the Four Seasons!

This is a great resort. The location is great with the grocery store only minutes away. It is also very easy to find. The grounds are beautifully kept. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Pool is very nice. It is a good size and is kept clean. the villa itself is lovely. All living spaces where a good size and decor was "hawaiin" with lots of pineapples. I would give this review 5 stars except that the beds in our unit were terrible. I can only speak for our unit in regards to the beds. That being said I would book this resort again.

If you're looking to get a place with tons of amenities that is close to a bunch of places, but off of the beaten path... this place is great. It is just down the road from the downtown/touristy area of Kona. If you do want to do a day trip down to that area to do some touristy stuff, it is just a short drive. It is in a great place to simply relax, but is close enough to get groceries or go out to get a fancy dinner.

I was impressed by the great kitchen, the size of the place, and the washer/dryer. The only big downside was the bedding. The bed was old and a bit hard.
