“Out of this World Experience!”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We decided to do the night time snorkel with Manta rays at the behest of my 11 year old son. We checked out a few suppliers and chose Splashers after reading other reviews. We could only go on the same day we wanted to book and they only had space for our group on their late departure at 8:30pm. Our trip was only the 10th time they had done the late trip, but they assured us it was better because all the other outfits would have left by then and we would get the cove to ourselves. This is one time when the promises of a trip supplier really came true! Mike and his team took great care of us, with Capt. Cyrus and Beth taking us out on their fast zodiac. The last of the other boats were leaving just as we arrived and we had the entire cove and all the Mantas to ourselves! The way it works is that you're in a wet suit with snorkel gear on. They have a surf board that's been outfitted with plastic bars along the edge and bright lights that shine down through the board into the water. You get into the water and hold onto the plastic bars while floating horizontally. Then you wait for the bright lights to attract the plankton to the board, and the Mantas to come eat the plankton. I gasped as I was floating there in the dark water with a column of light shining down and the first Manta glided into view below. They are enormous and majestic! The Mantas started doing loops below us, swooping upwards towards the surface, mouths agape scooping up plankton. On each loop, they seemed to get closer and eventually, they loop around only 2-3 inches away from you. Really out of this world! The Splashers crew were all friendly, professional and took good care of their customers. Highly recommended if you're in Kona.

My wife and I had an amazing time on our tour with Splashers. We went on the morning snorkel tour on the 9th of April, 2013. About 20 minutes in to the tour we were lucky enough to see a pod of 3 whales even though it was just outside their migration season. We then moved on and swam with a heap of dolphins. Even though they were sleeping this was such a memorable experience. From there we headed to Kealakekua Bay. I have to tell you that place has some amazing snorkelling! We then headed back but on the way stopped at another snorkelling spot which was also amazing! (sorry I can't remember the name of the spot) I think our tour was about 4 hours. We wouldn't hesitate to do it again :-)

“super snorkeling”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Best snorkeling experience in Hawaii.
We asked for dolphins, sea turtles and the Capt. Cook monument and got all three.Brilliant Beth took good care of the less experienced members of our group, and Capt Mike drove the second fastest rib in Hawaii to perfection. They found two of the three types of dolphin inthe area, Spinners which we swam with and Bottlenose which we didn't. The snorkeling site near Capt Cook monument is one of the best in the world and I can see why.
Altogether a great morning trip from a great team.
Thank you Splashers.

“Kealakekua Bay and Capt Cook Snorkel”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

Fabulous trip, highly recommend it! Our family of four consists of 3 weak swimmers and one non-swimmer and all first time snorkelers. Beth did an amazing job of making us all feel very comfortable in the water. Boat ride was bumpy but Cyrus did a great job of manning the boat and finding spinner dolphins for us to snorkel with. Snacks, drinks and turkey wraps were provided for hungry snorkelers. Thanks for assisting our family in having a fabulous adventure we will never forget. We rented an underwater camera at Boss Frogs for $25. and prescription masks at Snorkel Bobs for my husband and daughter @ $10. for 24 hours. Boss Frogs also has prescription masks but not strong enough. These made the trip even better! These rentals were at the recommendation of Splashers.
