Wonderful trip on a nice vessel with a knowledgable, congenial and helpful crew. Really a memorable day. The fairly close encounter with a pod of humpbacks was an unexpected bonus.Bravo Zulu.

The day started out "slow" with sightings of a Monk Seal and a few whales. But the real winner was how Captain Ray tracked down a superpod of dolphins. Joni took us into the water and gave us tips on how to engage the dolphins. Joni clearly has some of her own dolphin blood as she effortlessly dove around 20 feet and become part of the pod. Ray and Joni clearly know what they're doing and even had my 72 year old mother-in-law comfortable with the snokeling! Definitely one of our Hawaii highlights.

This was our first trip with OLOS and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A great boat trip and we were able to swim with lots of dolphins. Interesting to note that when we were in areas where there were a lot of dolphins there were other tour boats that were packed like sardine cans. The beauty of our trip was the smaller group onboard which made it nice for interacting with other guests and Ray and his crew. The snorkeling equipment provided was like new and the snacks and lunch first rate. It may cost a little more than other tours but is well worth it. Will do it again.

The dolphin experience with Captain Ray and Shelly was THE highlight our our weeklong family vacation on the big island. Captain Ray did a great job getting us out to dolphin pods quickly and Shelly explained exactly what we would need to do to get into the water quickly and safely. She also took charge of our 7 year old in the water making sure he had fun with the dolphins, which allowed parents and adult children to focus on the experience We swam with dozens of Spinners, watched moms with their calves, and listened to them talking to one another---a sound I will never forget. Shelly was very knowledgable about Spinner behavior and patiently answered all our questions. The dolphins didn't seem at all bothered by our presence and some swam close enough to touch, although we didn't. It's not allowed. They feed you fruit and pastry on the way out and ordinary sandwiches and store bought cookies on the way back. Captain Ray's boat was immaculate, something my husband, another tidy boater, very much appreciated. One tip: If you're taking younger children, try to get them snorkeling before this boat trip. That way they won't be scared of the water or equipment when they jump in.

This was one of the things on my must-do list, so it was with great anticipation that we booked this trip, and I must say it fulfilled all my expectations, and more. Ray is a superb boat captain, very knowledgeable and respectful of the ocean and its inhabitants. The boat is quite large and especially immaculate, and Captain Ray likes to keep it that way. Shelley was our guide and just a wealth of knowledge when it comes to whales and dolphins. Once we started seeing the whales, it never stopped! Mom baby, then more and more. Dolphins took a little longer to spot, but again once we found them, it was as though they'd never stop coming. Capt. Ray positioned the boat just perfectly in front of them, Shelly made sure we were ready to go, and all of a sudden, there we were in the ocean with these magnificent creatures. Shelly is just fantastic in the water, and Capt. Ray was there with the boat whenever we needed him to be.
All we brought were our suits, towels, sunscreen and if you have your own snorkeling gear, bring that. Everything else is provided, and by the time you've been in and out of the ocean a few times, the lovely lunch and fresh snacks is quite welcome. This was an experience I will not soon forget, made all the better by Capt. Ray and Shelly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
