My husband and I had been to Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island in Hawaii. We had seen the steam venting from the crater of the active volcano but there was no lava flow or glow. We decided to take an air tour to see the cater from the air and to see waterfalls that are inaccessible by car. The new 3 million plane that held ten passengers was very comfortable and the pilot was fantastic!! We took the evening tour in hopes of seeing the glow from the lava pool in the crater...and we did though it resembled a fire ring (like you see when their are forest fires) but still it was one awesome site to be above the crater and look down, particularly after seeing hte steam from the ground. The pilot also gives an interesting narrative of the area that we flew over. It is pricely, but it is Hawaii ,after all, and everything is pricey!
