Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: Kona Country Club has been designed by William Bell and sits along the Pacific Ocean with stunning mountain views. This beautiful golf course has breathtaking Kona coastline views, trails of ancient lava flow and is enriched with Hawaiian culture and wild life. This Big Island golf course can be enjoyed by both beginners and advanced golfers. Built in 1966, this William Bell designed course maintains its charm by incorporating natural settings along the Pacific Ocean. Be ready to take a picture on our signature holes #3 and #12. Enjoy seeing the grand splash on hole #13 where you will see the blow hole known as "puka" in Hawaiian. Keep a lookout for Humpback whales during November through March. Home of LPGA Takefuji Classic in 2000 and 2001, this 18 hole championship course offers wide, lush fairways, Bermuda grass greens and numerous sand bunkers.

“Beautiful course!”

My husband and buddy had a great time here - and even went back for a second round. Both times were on the ocean course. Next time they are going to try the mountain course.

“Vista Restaurant - Food with a view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2013

While we don't golf, this restaurant sits in a beautiful course with a view of the bay. Breakfast included great food, a view of the bay and traveling humpback whales. Great morning.

“Fabulous Views on every Hole”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

Many years ago this was a private club. It is open to the public now. Gorgeous views from every hole. All of the flowers and palm trees one expects to find in Hawaii. Nice golf shop. Casual open air restaurant with burgers, salads, sandwiches. Friendly place.

“Very enjoyable course”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

Played the Ocean course, less "ocean views" than expected. Very scenic and interesting layout. Our twosome was paired with a local couple - great to play with someone who knows the course. We got good tips but not overbearing. Partner got an eagle on 18 with a booming drive and good approach shot!!

“Good course, great views, more than your moneys worth”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

The driving range and putting greens were a great way to break up our trip. Bit. Simple walk on range and green with a coin operated ball dispenser. The range markers did seem to be a bit off, but "close enough for government work," as the saying goes.
