We just returned from a stay at Unit 2904 at the Kanaloa condos in Kona. It was a wonderful location and the unit was great. One bedroom but 2 bathrooms, kitchen, spacious living room and lanai overlooking the waves crashing onto the lava. The only "complaint" was that the floor of the unit could have been a bit cleaner, but that's something for the mgmt. company to take up with their cleaning crew. The location at Kanaloa is central and very convenient for a variety of activities - from the great snorkeling locations down by the Captian Cook Monument and Kahaluu Beach Park, to the adventure cruises that launch from nearby Keauhou Marina, to the town of Kailua-Kona. There is an absolutely wonderful restaurant right there in the Kanaloa complex called "Edward's" and we had dinner there twice. I strongly recommend it! I would definitely recommend the Kanaloa location and unit 2904.

Just got back from a one-week stay at Kanaloa. Our first time on the Kona coast; had a great time. We rented a two-bedroom+loft oceanfront condo from a private owner (significantly cheaper than through Outrigger). Downside to that was no maid service (even garbage pickup). Kitchen was a bit funky and in need of updating; a couple of cabinets smelled downright musty, but otherwise the unit was nicely furnished and clean. Go for the (optional) air conditioning--it was in the mid 80's when we were there and we needed it! We stayed with my 80+year-old parents and teenage kids, and all had a great time. We could watch surfers from our lanai and swam in the pools. Had a blast snorkeling, and were awed by the volcanoes/lava fields. The food at the restaurant was pricey and not all that great, but you're not far from town. Overall a most wonderful place to spend a week.

We just returned last week from our stay at Kanaloa at Kona and it was superb in all respects. The peacefulness of just sitting on the Lanai eating breakfast or just relaxing was so nice !! The view is great without a doubt. We attached a picture taken from the Lanai. Both my wife and I have been to different Islands over the past three years and our experience at Kanaloa at Kona was by far the best. The condo was spotless, the furnishings were great and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The DVD player was really nice since we had brought some along. We would recommend Kanaloa at Kona to anyone thinking about staying there........trust us, you'll love it !!!

Through Aloha Condos we rented #1603 at Kanaloa at Kona, a privately owned 1-bedroom condo. This place is especially perfect for 2 people.

We were most impressed with the amenities (small and large), the newness and cleanliness of this condo and property. It is very quiet and peaceful and the views are superior. I watched golfers play a par three hole from tee to green - it's right below your lanai!

While we were there the owners had a sunscreen installed on the lanai. The responsible onsite person was there with the installers and it was all handled very professionally and quickly. The owner, who lives in Portland, gave us a followup telephone call to ensure that we were not inconvienced -pretty impressive!!

We were there only five nights; if I had it to do over again we would have booked two full weeks. I'm convinced this is one of the best values on the Big Island.

My new husband & I stayed in a huge one bedroom condo and I mean huge. We had a kitchen with all the cooking utencils and a washer/dryer.
two large Lanai's. One off the bedroom and the other off the living room overlooking the golf course. The staff was tops giving us plenty of towels. They only change and make the bed every third night which is fine with us. We were very happy with the location as we did not want to be in the downtown Kona which is very busy. We will go back in a heartbeat.
They have three pools one being an adult only. The grounds are immaculate and we loved watching the mongoose which run around. No they won't come near you. If you want to be direct on a beach forget it. This place has a path you can walk on the ocean which is all lava rock...very cool and beautiful sunsets. The on premise Restaurant is Edwards. It is an outdoor Lanai overlooking the ocean with tiki torches at night. Dinner was excellent. and the service was perfect and friendly.
We would highly recomend the outrigger kanoloa and Edwards. Perfect for anyone except anyone of you who want to be in the middle of all the action then I suggest you check out places closer to downtown Kona. Also you can book tours right at the main lobby. Clay took very good care of us. He also reccomended a couple excellent restaurants and booked them for us. Mahalo to Kanoloa. Aloha !! ( note: there is also the outrigger hotel which is next to the best snorkeling beach ever )
