Watch the ocean, surfers, tourists and locals from the bar facing the street as you chow down on Bongo Ben Egg's Benedict, fresh Kona coffee and fist size biscuits that are baked fresh daily. Bring your receipt the next day and receive a free stack of pancakes. The servers are friendly and sometimes spread out too thin for personal service. A very popular restaurant for lunch and dinner too.

The food was good and our waiter was entertaining. Recommend the strawberry spinach salad.

On the downside the washroom was up a winding staircase outside of the eatery. It needs to be freshened up big time.

All in all, decent place to eat.

After landing, claiming our condo, shopping for groceries, our next stop to celebrate arriving in Kona, and banishing snow, ice and cold is the Ali'i drive eatery Bongo Ben's. A great bar scene with a multiple aged friendly crowd, all happy to share their Island experiences. Drinks come up fast and are well made. Menu is a little of everything, with good fresh seafood. Julie had calamari steak and I had fish and chips but substituted garlic sautéed vegetables for the potatoes. Both were delicious. All outdoors in warm sea breeze as the sun set and darkness settled over the Pacific.

The view, the view, the view!! Great breakfast options, GREAT coffee, great service. But if you go, you gotta sit facing the ocean. There isn't a better way to start the day. My only regret was that I found it too late in my trip. Still managed 2 breakfasts there!!

This was a great experience. The food was good with generous portions served with a beautiful outdoor ocean view. Their service is fast, friendly. I'm not sure why one reviewer had concerns with parking, there is plenty of parking in a lot behind the restuarant unlike many of the area restaurants. If you return the next day you get free pancakes or nachos. Loved the coconut syrup for pancakes.
