So much better than an impersonal hotel, this B&B is a authentic bit of island life. Our Seaview room was lovely and very comfortable. The bed was made in heaven! The house has the feel of old Hawaii, because of the dark British colonial furniture, white wood panelling and intricate railings, dark green siding and white tile floors. There's even a traditional Hawaiian quilt on the bed and loads of colourful pillows and charming decorations One whole wall is made of those louvred glass panels so when opened up wide, a gentle pacific breeze flows in to keep everything cool. Our room had a petite wrap around balcony with a tiny ocean view surrounded by palm trees the same height as the balcony, which gave a sense of shelter and privacy. The ocean is about a block away so you hear only a comforting distant rumble that rocks you to sleep at night, rather than that mind numbing crashing you REALLY want to block out when you stay right on the beach. Everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Our host, Randy is friendly, helpful and non-intrusive. Each room has a kitchenette and private bath. Shannon, Randy's wife has thought of everything so each room has all that is needed to make simple meals like breakfast and lunch. An adjacent outdoor kitchen is available for larger meals/barbecues. Note-The b&b is difficult to find at first, especially if you arrive at night because it is tucked away at the top of a tiny lane way. Be sure to get clear directions from Randy because the website map is not that helpful. Look for a little blue and white church on the beach just north of Kahalu'u Bay snorkel beach - directly across the street you will find a narrow lane/street (almost looks like a back alley). Wind your way up the hill until you see the b&b sign.
