We went on the Glass Bottom Dolphin adventure (Celebrity KN12). Turns out that March was the ideal time for this. The Whales were on a "heat run", which we were told was the male whales putting on a show to win a mate.
For us, that meant we got to see the humpback whales coming out of the water and putting their tail straight up out of the water, splashing the water with their fins, and spouting. I would say we got within a good 7-iron from the whales. It was spectacular. Just take your camera off auto - try a burst or sport mode on the camera as it is difficult to catch the shot otherwise. You will want to take a short burst of several photos to catch the moment.
Also, as you go by the where the dolphins are, go to the front of the boat. The dolphins like to ride the bow wave, and they are just under the water. Awesome.
There are drinks and snacks and a washroom on board.
