“MUST GO!”

Great hotel!!!. We arrived late at night, and their staff prepared an amazing meal for us specially since we were all vegetarian. Service was on point. The rooms were spacious, modern and comfortable. The view was unreal.
The only bad thing I have to say is that they don't have a running spa, even though they have all the facilities for one (massage rooms, steam rooms etc) and no jacuzzi.
I would definitely go here on the way to visit Istria.

Firstly, before you read on, please understand that the Croatian coast is very seasonal. The effect is that the largest percentage of staff are part time. This has an effect on the service that one would expect from a 5 star rated hotel. So this being said, my review should be read as constructive criticism and not simply criticism. The hotel itself rates 5*. People who travel internationally will expect therefore a 5 star level of infrastructure and importantly, service. Immediately I found the room to boast nothing more to be found in a 3 star. A double bed, a balcony, tv, and bathroom. There is no separate living area that one would expect. Storage space for cloths etc is average. The electrical sockets are cheap and coming out the wall. This is not just unsightly but also unsafe. There was no facility in the room to make your own beverage so one could sit on the balcony drinking an early coffee and enjoying the sunrise. In addition there was no complementary news paper delivered to the door in the morning. The bathroom door has no lock for privacy. Some people do indeed like to lock the door when using a toilet. There was also no proper shaving socket that has a standard 110/220 outlet with the addition of a hair dryer. All that is there is a simple 220v European outlet with no rating expected in a humid bathroom environment. The ventilation in the bathroom is also poor with all mirrors being steamed up and a bathroom ending up more like a steam room. The room basically felt cheaply put together in the smallest area afforded to 5 star accommodation. The evening meal was also challenged due to the unprofessional staff who are not trained to the standard expected and the meant in turn was as bland and uninspired as typical of the menu in the country. Yes there is a few exceptions. This not being one. On asking for the desert menu I was offered the same as can be found in any cafe and nothing more, pancakes with a cheap array of topping. Why oh why is this all that can be offered even in a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was as typically boring as any hotel could offer. And not even a means to make your own coffee or tea. Very unusual. I had to wait for someone to appear to make one at the bar. The one redeeming quality this hotel offers is the beach front location with a fantastic view. All in all I would give this hotel a 3 star rating. The sad thing is all its lacking can be easily fixed (apart from the small rooms) with small investment and also better staff worthy of a 5 star hotel.

Room Tip: A room with a view is a bit of a no brainer

We stayed here for one night at the recommendation of a friend that has a holiday home locally. I notice the previous reviewwer reviewed an apartment but this is for the hotel itself.

The Positives
The hotel is on the seafront literally almost in the water with beautiful views of the Adriatic and Krk island. It is between Selce and Crikvenica and handy place for both resorts and close to some good restaurants and bars. We had a top suite which was lovely inside with beautiful interiors all white leather etc and wonderful views. The food we had for lunch when we arrived was good and the drinks we had in the evening before going out with friends were good. there is no outdoor pool but you can swim directly in the sea so it wasn't an issue for us. It was just a beautiful place to sit and look out at the water with a real sense of being on a ship and in the water.

Negatives
We had a large suite with a huge terrace but the terrace was rather odd as anyone could get on to it from an emergency exit or walk onto it from other rooms. It was a huge terrace but there was only two small chairs and a very small table and then around a corner two loungers which could not be separated With an umbrella. In the middle of the terrace there was a hosepipe and hose curled. The terrace was crying out for a table and four chairs and an umbrella and a screen to protect it from view from the road.

When we arrived we were asked were we for the apartments and when we said no we were told we had booked two doubles and I had to be specific that we had booked the suite. I felt that there were people they wanted to leave in the suite but it was not clear why they were so uneasy about our booking about though we did get what we had ordered it in the end. This would be another issue I would have with the friendliness and professionalism of the hotel staff. Allowing for national and linguistic communication styles they were a bit uniformative and off hand - no smiles, did you enjoy your stay or have a nice trip from most though there were some very nice staff just not what you would expect from a five class hotel internationally. There were teething problems with the lighting in our room but they dealt with that speedily and as the hotel is brand new you would expect some teething problems.

Room Tip: dont bother with the Presidential suite as you don't need it in the summer as you are outside mo...
