We booked an apartment at Zorans through Booking.com. The 15. Of June we got the confirmation from Booking.com. We had the apartment from 2 to 9. of august. We were really looking forward to a week at Lopud.
We had arline tickets to Dubrovnik on the 1. Of august. The night before we were leaving to Dubrovnik I got a phone from a woman in Dubrovnik. She told me Zoran apartments had rented the apartment to somebody else!!!!!!
She claimed that they had been trying to reach me both by phone and e-mail. Well, they did not try very hard. I never heard from them!! The woman from Dubrovnik said she would try to get us an other apartment, but she did not suceed. Booking.com were very sorry and also tried to get us another place to stay at Lopud, but with no success. Our holiday at Lopud and in Croatia were falling apart! The spirit in the family was not the best....
Anyway we decided to go to the airport on the 1. of august and go to Dubrovnik. Although everything seemed fully booked at Lopud, we hoped for a little miracle. And they do still happen. This time in the shape of a little norwegian travel company, Lopudreiser.no. On the way to the airport I got in contact with one of he people running the company. He understood very well our situation and promised to help. And in just an hour or two, he had fixed an apartment on Lopud for us. He saved our holiday!
We have just come back from Croatia and have had a fantastic stay both at Lopud and in Dubrovnik. I will strongly recomend a stay at Lopud.mit is a fantastid little island.
But Zoran apartments or Booking.com can not treat people like this if they will have guests. I can not understand that this kind of situation is possible when you have a confirmed booking. Unless you cancel the booking, it is valid.
