In this small military (USMC) town, gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, it is a joy to find this little nugget of sophistication and taste. The food is well prepared, with the catch of the day being so fresh you will think you are on "fisherman's wharf," not in the middle of a desert. Do get a reservation as it is busy at dinner. Perhaps that is why the service is rushed: the bill is presented while there is still wine in the glasses and the entree arrives, before the starter is finished. Perhaps skip the starter and order wine by the glass.
