Americas Best Value Inn - Joshua Tree/29 Palms
Ranked #12 of 12 Hotels in Twentynine Palms

Guest consideration -zero! The hotel was quick to take the money but had no heart or consideration to allow for changing a reservation. A reservation was made by my daughter on my behalf, and unexpected circumstances had her going to hospital for an emergency c-section, and with the added confusion of having to pick up her husband from the military base (he is a Marine), my daughter neglected to communicate to me that she had left her credit card info. She asked me to cancel the reservation which I did on the same day, but it was a couple of hours after the deadline. Again, the situation did not allow for either of us to call and cancel sooner. We are not even requesting for the money back, just that we use the reservation now that my son-in-law is going to deploy again. Management does not consider this a special circumstance to make an exception to their rule and allow us the change in reservation. PLEASE, do not stay stay in this establishment who has no heart and do not support the families of our soldiers!!

As a Hotel that has been doing business in the 29 Palms area for almost a decade we understand the men and women that serve our country and their family members have special circumstances. We have always accommodated them in the past and will do so in the future. Most of our staff are military families, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, and service men and women that still live in the area.

Unfortunately the guest above did not state that this is the second time she cancelled the room after our 24 hour notice police and the hotel changed her reservation with no penalty the first time, the second time she tried to cancel she did not give the hotel medical emergency information when trying to cancel so we had no choice to enforce our 24 hour cancellation policy, if she had provided all the necessary documents, ie deployment, medical emergency, cancellation of deployment we would have waived the fees automatically. We pride ourselves in taking care of our community and our guest.

Staff was kind and courteous. However, the rooms were not very clean. Dirt on the floors, toenails and hair were also in a few spots. People get very loud at night, especially on the weekends. I called the front desk after being woken up at 1 am from screaming and laughing next door, they took care of it. I know its going to happen being outside of a Marine base, but not fun trying to sleep with parties going on all around you. Breakfast was free but not much variety at all. Need new pillows for sure!

Confortable rooms at decent prices. Competent front desk and conveniently located to visit Joshua Tree National Park. Request a room further from the road since it is fairly busy. Breakfast is good and quite diverse. Probably among the best value for money hotels in town. One of the best in this price range and of the Comfort Inn hotel franchise we have stayed at so far.

The staff is very nice and helpful. They were inconsistent in providing necessary items - missing the do not disturb sign and no tissues in the room when we checked in. The rooms are clean and okay, but housekeeping forgot to make our bed one day. The mattress was a bit soft and maybe too old. Not sure if I would return.

This is the first hotel I've stayed at that has absolutely nothing in the "kitchenette". No pots & pans, plates & bowls, cups & glasses, no utensils... nothing. What is the point of renting a room with a kitchenette if you have to haul all that stuff with you from home? So, it meant the additional expense of restaurant meals for the stay.

Other than that, I would have given them a very high rating. The room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping excellent. Front desk excellent. Excellent location for exploring Joshua Tree Nat'l Park.

As mentioned in other posts, even halfway back, the road noise is pretty loud. But if you put the heat or AC on low fan mode, you won't hear the road.

I would stay here again but wouldn't bother booking a room with kitchenette.

This hotel is a nice little place in the city of Twentynine Palms. We were in town to visit with our son and his new wife over the Thanksgiving holiday who are stationed at the local Marine base. The hotel itself is small but this allowed for a more personal experience. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The ladies who cleaned our room were wonderful. They said Good Morning every day and went out of their way to ask us if we wanted our room clean and even though we didn't need any cleaning, they would ask us if we needed towels or toiletries. The hotel serves a solid breakfast every morning including bagels, mini muffins, yogurt, cereal, coffee and more. They even have a waffle maker which the girl at the desk graciously cleaned for me after I made a big mess and burned my waffle to the iron. She even offered to make me a new waffle! The ladies in the office were all lovely and willing to go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel and this will be the place we stay whenever we are in town over the next few years that our son is here.

Room Tip: If you want to avoid the road noise, request a room upstairs at the back of the hotel.

Tried Confort Inn for half the price... room was great, clean, bed very good, WIFI worked great... only complaint... road noise.
