“Local Italian gem”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

Been in 29 for years. Finally an authentic Italian Restaurant worthy of the title. Excellent service( say hi to Angel and make sure you tip) fabulous food and a wonderful atmosphere. The Chef, me Foudy takes great pride in his craft and delivers an amazing culinary selection. Definitely my new favorite place in the high Desert. If you a local, or just visiting, make sure Gino's is one of your dining stops. You won't regret it.
Highly recommended!

“Lasagna and Tiramisu”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

I do hope that if you're visiting Twenty Nine Palms that you take a moment and discover a true gem not too far from the gate to Joshua Tree. This gem is no ordinary restaurant, and if you want to have lasagna that can only be described as extraordinary, well…you will have discovered Gino's Cafe. Amazingly, the lasagna is just scratching the surface of their rather remarkable cuisine. The two brothers Gino and Fouady have somehow blended their Italian roots into a culinary art form. If you're lucky enough to be around when they're serving up their version of tiramisu, by all means go for it…It's…just…Wow!

“Wonderful place with a great atmosphere!”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

We decided to stop by this little restaurant after a day in the national park. Gino’s cafe, what a wonderful place with a great atmosphere. I had the Spaghetti Pesto, which was very well balanced, not too sweet, not too garlicky. My boyfriend ordered his favourite: lasagna. Our other couple had the Eggplant Parmesan to share. You could tell a lot of work went into prepping the food. As for the service it was just as good. The Chef is authentic Italian and the waitress was very nice as well. After the meal we were the last ones in. The staff had a closing drink with us. All and all it was a terrific dinner. Can’t find any better Italian in West LA or Beverly. :)

“We might be spoilt but this was average food”
Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

We diverted to Gino's because both 29 Palms Inn & Bistro were closed for refurbishment / summer.

Now, having regularly travelled to Italy, I can safely say this food was average at best - the Mussel starter was more like a Mussel surprise, ie there weren't very many (although they tasted ok), and the pasta entrees weren't much better.

Nice, friendly service though (yes, with the trolley - why ?!?!) but not worth the prices they charge. So ok, just!

“Italian food”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

The decor was very old school but nice if a little stuffy. The food wasn't amazing but good and would go back again. The sauteed shrimp with pasta was very tasty and plentiful. I couldn't finish it all the very nice Chef gave us.
