We had a wonderful stay in Sunnyvale Garden Suites Hotel. The room which included a full kitchen was very clean, the bed omfartable and the location is perfect for visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Tony, the owner, was extremely helpful. I needed to scan and e-mail important papers and he came over and helped me by using his scanner and computer. It is a very quiet place, the cactus garden is fun to photograph and the proximity to the National Park is perfect.
I can highly recommend this place. We had a great stay!

Having stayed at other hotels in 29 Palms, my husband and I were thrilled to find a place with personality. The full kitchen gave us a little bit of normalcy after we moved out of our house. A couple of family members flew out to visit and also stayed here. They were very pleased with their rooms as well. The table in our room was big enough for all of us to enjoy meals together and the sofa made the room seem more like a suite than a studio. The rooms are comfortable and the grounds are nice. A pool is always a plus in a place that gets as hot as 29 Palms. I would definitely recommend to others and will stay there again.

This was our second stay at Sunnyvale Garden Suites. We spent three nights in the Prospector Suite, which is great for a single or a couple. It's not fancy; in fact, it's more on the funky end, but the bed is extremely comfortable, and the unit is roomy, with a couch; TV; dining table and chairs; and a full kitchen, with a large refrigerator, microwave, and stove (plus a large closet, dresser, etc.). The complex includes a large garden area with cactus and desert-themed artifacts. My husband used the onsite gym every night. There's excellent access to Joshua Tree National Park from here. The owner is incredibly friendly, responsive, and helpful. If you're staying here and you're a fan of apple fritters, don't miss the ones at the Jelly Donut, on Twentynine Palms Highway, near the corner of Tamarisk. I don't know about their other offerings, but their apple fritters are fresh, delicious, and HUGE.

Room Tip: The Prospector Suite is in a single-story building. There are no stairs and no one is overhead.

Our family had 3 rooms and each one was different but all were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The love seat in my room was not too comfortable but the kitchen was fairly well equipped for cooking which we did one night. There was a nice table for our dinner. The kitchens were stocked with a few cleaning products & paper towels so we could wait a day before going to the store. It was nice to have the patio & BBQ with each unit. The decor around the hotel is so cute & you can tell they spend time & thought on that. Compared to the prices at Inn at 29 Palms, this was a very good bargain. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay here on our next trip.

We stayed here because we wanted a place with character and to avoid the chain hotels. It does have character and it also has a very pleasant and helpful host. Otherwise, we found little to recommend this hotel. The place just generally has a sense of grubbiness and could use a good cleaning. It feels like the furniture has been picked up at a second hand store. Nothing matches and some pieces have seen much better days. The deadbolt on the main door cannot be locked from the outside and the doorbell has been half pulled off the wall. There is just a general sense of the place having been roughly treated. If we were to return, we would not stay here. But would probably check out places like the Holiday Inn. There, you might have to put up with road noise but it would still be a better stay. And, at $160 per night, Sunnyvale certainly isn't good value. You can d better.

Your feedback is much appreciated. Your honest comment is very helpful in allowing us to improve our facility. We have fixed the hanging door bell. The deadbolt is designed to be locked from the inside only, as an additional indicator that the guest is inside and does not want to be disturbed. Some guests forget to put the "do not disturb sign" on the outside door knob. We have addressed with our staff the other details of your review, again we thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing.
