Description: Join us in our relaxed, art-filled restaurant for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch. Our menus feature fresh seafood, steaks and prime rib, pastas, salads and delicious vegetarian dishes. We take pride in baking our own sourdough bread daily, and making all of our own soups, dressings and desserts. When available, we incorporate fresh & organic fruits and vegetables from our own Faultline Farm. Dine poolside, or indoors, and enjoy live acoustic music seven nights a week. Visit our blog to see our monthly music schedules. Our restaurant seats on a first come, first serve basis. We strongly recommend calling ahead 30-40 minutes before you plan on arriving to speak with our host. We will be happy to give you an update on how busy we are, and if there is a wait list, put your name it. To keep things flowing in our small dining room, we will direct large parties of 10 or more to make arrangements with our Restaurant Manager.

“Delicious fresh food”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

Don't be put off when you walk into the pool area to get to the entrance to the restaurant! My husband and I were a little nervous at first but as soon as we walked into the cozy dining room we were at ease. The service here was spot on, our waiter didn't miss a beat. The food was top notch. Fresh veggies from their garden. I had the linguinii with clams, the broth had a little fresh tomato in it that added a wonderful flavor. My husband had the prime rib and just about finished his whole plate. He also is very picky about his ice tea and said it was some of the best ice tea he has had. The desserts were also so so good. We had the chocolate mousse and the carrot cake. Superb! Highly recommend.

“best quality/price”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

Belgian family touring 3 weeks in SW-USA. This was certainly one of our best meals : fresh and healthy products & still reasonably priced food & wine. Congratulations to the chef !

“Fantastic desert experience”
Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

2 families and a friend stayed at the 29 palms inn for 2 nights. From check in to check out we had a fantastic experience. The rooms were 3 Adobes at the end of the property. Small but clean functional and most importantly air conditioned with an enclosed yard that you could sit out at night and watch the stars.. a lovely experience with robert palmer playing on the ipod! We heard coyotes at night and saw bats.and nighthawks which added to the experience. Cotton tail rabbits and road runners during the day were thankfully our only other wildlife encounters. The oasis and farm areas are well worth a visit in the evening or early morning and the pool is the perfect place to relax and cool down day or night..our kids, 2 ten year old boys loved night swimming. The breakfast is second to none the grapes from the garden pack a lot of juice the fresh eggs are delicious and the freshly baked bread and oatmeal give the perfect start to the day. Lunch and dinner were fabulous and fresh with great service all accompanied by nightly live music. Its a great mix of clientèle and if we didn't live so far away we'd be back. The visitor centre around the corner is well worth visit and definitely a trip around the joshua tree national park. Hints if you want to star gaze you may be better off the other end of the property as there is some light pollution on this end. Be sure to bring your bottles to the restaurant and top up on the fresh cool springwater for your room..there are cool boxes in your room. Most importantly. .sit back relax and enjoy it's a wonderful experience.

“Fresh selection of food”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

This is a small restaurant by the pool and it is apparently loved by many in the area. We could see lots of regular diners came by for their meal.
We had steak, fish, ribs and their signature clams pasta. Excellent choice and it cost us about US100 for the meal (without drinks).

“Diamond in the Rough”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

In an area without a lot of intriguing culinary options, the restaurant at 29 Palms Inn delivered fresh, delicious food with excellent flavors. It is within the context of its location that this restaurant merits an excellent rating, though I don't want this qualification to discount the fact that they do genuinely deserve a high rating for providing reasonably priced, well prepared food in an unpretentious poolside setting.

The menu is concise and consists of traditional American fare including steaks, pasta and seafood selections. We started with a calamari appetizer, which while nothing extraordinary, was well cooked and a good start to our meal. We then opted for two of their dinner specials, the hoisin glazed Berkshire pork chops and what was touted as a pesto pasta with fresh vegetables from their own garden. Our initial concern that the pork chop could be dry or over dressed with the sticky sweet hoisin sauce proved unfounded as the chops were beautifully cooked and the sauce carefully applied in an appropriate portion. The pesto pasta was nothing that I would ever consider as a pesto, indeed it seemed more like a risotto (and upon noting this to our server, she admitted that several other parties had provided similar feedback), but it was nevertheless fresh, creamy and absolutely delicious. The hand picked local vegetables were perfectly cooked and lent a natural sweetness with a light crunch to this savory pasta dish. Balanced by light acidity from fresh tomatoes, I had no trouble cleaning my plate.

Bottles of wine were reasonably priced and a full bar selection of mixed drinks is offered. Live music was played poolside, so if you are seeking a quieter atmosphere to engage in conversation, you may wish to opt for an inside table. As I enjoyed the music being played and don't mind a little more boisterous conversation, I was very happy to sit outside. My partner and I even rotated our table at our server's offering, such that we could sit side by side facing the music.

As one final note, it was another highly rated restaurant's (Bistro 29's) refusal to seat us 45 minutes prior to their advertised close on a Wednesday evening that resulted in us finding 29 Palms Inn, and I am happy that we did! Thoughtfully prepared food in a comfortable atmosphere, I would come back here without question.
