Sad how people are exploited for money by religion. You don't have to pay God to be blessed by Him.

The experience of medjugorie was different to any other pilgrimage I have been on, I must admit to being sceptical of the claims of the visionaries??, however..The main reason I need to write is to WARN PEOPLE to never book with the Irish centre...we (our group of 12 mostly elderly people) were promised appartments, two beds, bathrooms, balconys, we were even advised to look up our splended appartments online!! we did!! they looked beautiful, perfect.....what we got was, a room ontop of a grotty pub? filthy...smelly...no wardrobe...for the first 4 nights of our 7 night stay...then they put us into appartments, separated our group into different appartment blocks, therefore splitting up the group...it was a complete disaster, they lied to us, it was appauling, for a holy place...never ever book with them.

Travelled with my Wife and friends to Medjugorge from Dublin on Sunday 1st April for one week we had booked through Marian Pilgrimages Dublin. The carrier was Aer Lingus who fly direct to Dubrovnik and its roughly two and a half hours by Coach to Medjugorje from there with some breath taking scenery. The accommodation in Medjugorje was excellent and all of our party had a most rewarding trip. Medjugorje is a wonferful place to go and reflect the people are very welcoming food and drink is cheap yet very good quality and I would recommend the experience to anyone. However to enjoy the full benefits I would suggest booking through a good firm as it makes all the difference to your trip where you have wonderful guides and people every day to insure you really do enjoy each day. Euro is accepted as is Dollar and Sterling Taxi's in and around Medjugorje cost €5 and Summer months can be very hot. Accommodation is normally on a B&B ad Evening Dinner deal but eating out really is inexpensive so read up on Medjugorje and then go and see.

The Medjugorje Youth Festival is truly a must experience for the world. Join over 50,000 young people from more than 60 countries from around the world in a truly unforgettable celebration. The programme begins at 9am each day with morning prayer, talks & testimonies and praise and worship. At 12pm there is a break for pilgrims to rest or explore and the programme continues at 4pm-6pm with more talks & testimonies.
The Medjugorje youth festival evening programme begins with the Rosary and is followed by a beautiful Holy Mass. This is usually followed with a powerful holy hour of adoration of the blessed sacrament.
During the later evening there is another event or performance at the youth festival. The community of Cenacalo put on a spectacular play for the pilgrims and there is a procession of the statue of Our Lady around the village of Medjugorje.

To visit Medjugorje during this time, travel with Medjugorje Pilgrimages, a new youthful missionary organisation dedicated to getting the youth to Medjugorje. www.medjugorjepilgrimages.co.uk
