Don't go here for the immaculate hotel experience, stay here if you want to be right by the slopes in a hotel that is made by its old school class. It's clean and does great food in the dining room and downstairs too in the bar - live music every Thursday at 4pm.
Ladies don't tend to have furry collars on their jackets and men don't have fake advertising logos on theirs either! Its just not that type of place. so what if a couple of floorboards creak ..... you can totally relax and have a great time.

Room Tip: Take a suite by the slopes!

I have been staying at the Hotel Flexen since the 1980s. It is the best location in town. The addition of Tony's Einkehr is just fantastic as is the wellness center. I would not stay anywhere else in town.

Flexen was exactly what we expected from a European budget hotel - cozy, family run, but well kept and great value for money. The location is great in that you can directly ski down to the double chair lift, but if you're walking up, its a bit of a climb. We stayed in a large double room which is very spacious and well appointed. Lots of storage and hangers. The WC and Bathroom were separate which was a bit inconvenient, but not a lot.

Breakfast was good, but a bit monotonous. Absolutely nothing changed from one day to another - the same juices, fruit, bread, cereal etc. But the quality was good.

Overall, would definitely recommend staying here.

This well established old hotel is in a great location with ideal ski in/out.

Its like still living in a '70s environment with traditional food (& lots of it) that is well presented but somewhat bland! There is an overabundance of staff which probably accounts for the high pricing structure. (Generally they have vacancies). You could easily price accommodation 30% cheaper and they would still make a handsome profit.
Be aware there is no lift and staying on the third floor is great exercise!
The Wellness area is great - modern and very relaxing.
The ski/boot room needs some attention though.
Some modern renovation to this hotel would not go astray here especially for the prices charged.

Room Tip: Ensure in new section and try to overlook the mountain

the old fashioned Flexen keeps it´s style, no sophisticated modernity, a kind of high class simplicity... located directly on the slope... leave the big headed high fashioned moneyblueblooded somewhere else - here you find people grounded, you´ll meet people, you´d never expect them to meet at all (whilst their bodyguards live 6 star bedded 2 doors next...)
Classical Ski resort Ambiance at it´s best
Standard rating points don´t meet the value received.

Room Tip: the hotel is separated in an old part from the early 20th century (indeed!) and some rooms have shared bathroom (one must like it), the rooms make you feel like being 80 -90 years back in the old days(some rooms there have internal bathrooms, too) . There is a new part of the building in modern Hotel standards as well with small appartments/suites. Try to get a room with view to village, or in late winter as well the rooms in 1st floor with balcony are great to stay in the sun and enjoy the panorama views! Note again: this hotel is VERY special and cannot be compared, it get´s it´s charn from the complete composition of old kept styles , modern hotel needs and location + staff and owner´s ambitions to keep things as they were always.
