Booked a package ski holiday through Nielsen to this hotel for week beginning 11/01/2014. There were 4 of us, one couple in 212, another in 214. We booked quite late and got a great deal.
Basically the hotel is a good 3 star hotel. The rooms are not luxurious, but are comfortable, certainly big enough and with plenty of storage space. Room 212 was bigger than 214 and with slightly more comfortable beds. You either get a room with a bath or a room with a shower, but again they were more than adequate. Both rooms were spotlessly clean, and were cleaned each day. Just about perfect after a day on the mountains.
The hotel has its own bar area which if there is a few of you could be good, certainly it was not expensive, but the hotel was more than half empty so when we were there it lacked a bit of atmosphere. The bar staff were good fun and always willing to help as indeed were all the staff. It was a friendly and welcoming place to be. We usually went out and enjoyed the bars in the village.
It also has a sauna and small gym which I did not make use of.
Breakfast was continental, with cereals, breads, jams, ham and cheeses, and boiled eggs. You just helped yourself to as much as you could eat! Some of us also made a sneaky roll to have a lunchtime on the mountain. You could have breakfast as early as 7 am and I think it ran until well after 9 am.
Dinner, although fairly simple, was very good and plenty of it. You get a starter (often soup), then a salad course, followed by the main course, pudding and finally cheeses. After a hard day's skiing you certainly did not go hungry.
Its location is slightly out of the main village, certainly far enough away so the church bells did not disturb, but close enough to easily get to the bars. It is however, like everywhere in Soll, a major hike to the lifts and you need to catch a bus. There is one that stops outside the hotel (brilliant) but unfortunately it does not run very frequently. More run in the centre of the village which is about a 5 minute hike.
We had a brilliant ski holiday and with the Nielsen deal we got it was fantastic value for money. The hotel was good, the village friendly and lively and the skiing excellent.
I hope to return some day.
