We took a three-day minibreak towards the end of July, offered by Aldi (Europe). It was supposed to be the main holiday season but the town was very quiet, which suited us very well. On arrival we were met with smiles from Barbara (I have read previous reviews about the lady who runs the hotel being unpredictable), but these smiles which were omni-present throughout our stay. We found the Barbara very friendly.
We were advised to take a room at the back of the hotel since there was a Fest that weekend at the fire station across the road and could be potential noise late at night. Our room was quite large with balcony, the bathroom was very clean, roomy and with lovely hot water at any time. Breakfast was very good, nice fresh food, good variety and oooh that milk was great. I can honestly say that the only downside to the hotel is that the church rings loudly at 6.50am every morning, I guess to get everyone up for work, even on a Sunday.
Our deal included evening meal at the Auf da Mühle Restaurant in the village. The food was great, although some choice would have helped. The walk to the restaurant took about 5 minutes which I think may have been a bit tricky with a family in winter conditions.
Our deal included use of ebikes during our stay - prior to this we did not know that the Tyrol is the largest area in Europe with a network of roads for these bikes. Surprisingly we also had instructions for using the ebikes included in the deal. This was quite amazing, we were taken on a 3 hour bike ride, showing us how to get the best out of the bikes, we covered 25km up and down mountains, these bikes are the future! Thank you Joe for the training course - incidentally we covered 60km alone the day after.
A very pleasant stay, I am sure we will go back.

This is the fourth year running and the 4th different place that I have stayed in Soll. The room at the Schonblick was good value for what we paid for it and was in a great location with lovely views of the mountains from our room.
My biggest complaint would be that I found the lady that ran it rather unpredictable. Sometimes she would be all smiles and very helpful and at others she would look like she wanted to kill me. It was a little unnerving as I found it very difficult to predict her behaviour and began to dread asking for anything.
On the plus point there was a lovely breakfast available, in a nice relaxed breakfast room, which for two days a week also provides a hot buffet. It was also available a bit later than some other places; until 930am which was good news for those with sore heads! They did have strict do not remove any food from the room policy with signs warning us not to in the room. I did feel a bit like I was being scrutenised for any filched frankfurters on the way out which was a bit odd. As cabin crew I am used to staying in hotels, some of which don't like us taking too much away with us but they certainly don't actively 'police' it like that.
The shower was nice and hot and the mattress was firm, the maid folded my pj's for me differently every day which was rather sweet.
Overall, due to the location and the price I would definately recommend it. The service was a little bizarre at times but I guess it just added to the character of the place and gave us something to chat about on the way home.

We went end of season and during the Easter Austrian school break - howeever, snow was fantastic and slopes not too crowded.
Great slopes for a beginner and not too dull for an intermediate - not enough black runs for the serious skiers.

The Pension was very clean and nice and warm. Very basic accommodation - shower (with creepy curtain!), no in-room tea/ coffee making facilities. A TV included - only one UK channel, CNN! Walls a little bit thin!

The breakfasts were great - very relaxed and the staff very helpful.

Am defintely going back to SOll - will stay at the Schonblick again.

This is a year late review but better late than never! stayed here in January 2006 for a snowboarding holiday. Stayed on a B&B basis but actually got a self catering room at the top of the hotel which was very big and roomy and had the added benefit of a fridge for beer & wine!
The owner/manager of the hotel was really friendly and the breakfast was continental with cheeses, cereals etc. Enough to give you a good start for the day. We spent a lot of time in the hotel next door as we're not big apres skiers (far too tired after a full day on the slopes) which was a quiet place but had a bar and restaurant and was frequented by all the locals which we liked. You may even get to watch the pensioners of the village playing skittles for money in the hotels 2 lane wooden bowling alley (Megabowl it isn't!) The food in this hotel next door was also great (sorry, can't remember the name-may have been Hotel Tenne??!).
Location: The location of the schonblick was great, really near to the slopes and bars etc. We had a great italian meal at a restaurant down the road (again I forget the name!) but make sure you book as it was really full the evening we went. Again this seemed to be frequented by the locals rather than the apres skiers and from what I remember it wasn't expensive, but not cheap either.
For apres ski there were plenty of little bars and Soll really is a friendly place.
Slopes: For a snowboarder that falls off every chair lift, they even let you carry your boards on the lifts rather than being strapped. The slopes had something for everyone and some lovely mountain restaurants for drinks/lunch. Gluwein at everyone to 'warm your cockles'!
Would definitely go here again, especially for the bargain price we got it for!!

Have just come back from staying at the Schonblick for my first skiing holiday.
It is less than 5 minutes walk to the slopes with its own skiroom to dry and warm your clothes!! Also 2 minutes walk to the most popular apres ski bar! time for a shower and meet people from the slopes.
Great variety of food for breakfast.
Really clean and very efficient service.
The owner is lovely and smiley and was very helpful when we asking for translations into German!
Hope this review helps.
