My Wife and I found this hotel on Crystal Ski Website which stated that it was new to them for this season. Description of the hotel states that it is located on the outskirts of the town but although it is in a quiet area it is actually only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Soll and also benefits from being the first stop of the ski bus each morning as all the buses become jam packed. The hotel itself is one of the cleanest we have stayed in, we had a room inside the hotel but there are chalets as well. The room could sleep 4 and was large with a kitchen and sitting area and although the kitchen was not equipped with any crockery it did have a fridge. It is a family run hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful and could speak good English which was just as well as my German is limited. Breakfast was adequate but could be doing with a bit more choice as every day was the same, cereal, rolls, ham and cheese. Dinner on the other hand was exceptional as all the food was freshly made and there was more than enough to satisfy you. Dinner was served between 6 and 8 therefore you could enjoy your apres ski in Town without having to rush back and miss all the fun. There is also a sauna and jacuzzi which we didn't use and some nice walks which start just outside the hotel. The only criticism I have about the hotel is that after dinner it is that quiet that you feel it lacks atmosphere to relax and have a drink but then if you still have enough energy it is not far to walk back into Town to enjoy the live music which was fantastic. Overall we were more than happy with this hotel and would return especially as the position of the hotel was a lot better than most of the other Crystal accommodation.
For anybody considering Soll here are a few tips: Crystal reps will try and sell you ski lockers at the "Garage" for 7 Euro Each for the week but this is just a large unheated room which your skis are placed and anybody with an access card can enter and it is also around a 10 minute uphill walk to the Gondola. We purchased this and then discovered there is another ski locker directly underneath the Gondola in the Erdinger sport shop which is dearer at 14 Euros each for the week but is completely secure and also is heated which was a godsend in the morning trying to get your boots on. We actually used this instead it would recommend it to anyone as the slopes are a good 15-20 minute walk away from the Town. Apres ski in soll is fantastic and there is always live music on somewhere in the resort and the prices for drink are very reasonable, about 3.50 Euro a drink. The ski area is extensive and the lift system fantastic with most runs being relatively quiet and there is also lots of areas to play in such as trees and small off piste areas. This was our first trip to Soll and will not be our last as it ticked all the boxes we look for in a ski holiday.
