How many towns contain a National Park? Great spot to visit. Did you know John Muir's inlaws were Polish American? Visit site. Have lunch in a cute town.

An Amazing experience to walk in the steps of naturalist John Muir. Well preserved, complete with his orchards. They also do wonderful school programs for class field trips.

Wonderful and educational tour. Nice grounds. Great location, easy to find right off of HWY 4 in Martinez.

This site has been remodeled so it is free to visit the house and the grounds. The park rangers are enthusiastic and infromative. After you visit the house and marvel at John Muir's study, be sure to continue on to the rear of the grounds and tour the adobe. The chart on the wall there of the first families to travel overland to this area is so interesting. The fact that almost everyone survived shows what good organization they must have had. Don't miss the old barn with carriages and the fruit trees in the gardens.

We had a wonderful day here, picking fruit, touring the house and talking with the Rangers. A very memorable experience.
