We were supposed to be a group of 4, and had reserved a 2 bedroom apartment for the World Cup downhill Ski weekend in October 2010. Unfortunately our friends had to cancel at the last minute, due to a tragic death in the family. We fully understood that there was little chance of getting any money back for our friends but we politely asked the question on arrival (they had sent an email 4 days before but had had no reply). Well what a surprise, instead of them expressing condolences and then calmly explaining the obvious – hotel policy, busy weekend, sorry but nothing we can do. Firstly the receptionist (I fear the owner) pretended not to understand us then after some discussion she just decided to treat us like idiots. Not surprisingly things didn’t get any better over the next 2 days, the rudeness continued everything too much trouble. Otherwise we had a fabulous week-end in Solden and are going back this year – but NOT to PETER HOTELAPPART!

The hotel has the potential to be great. It is on the slopes the rooms are fine but the service is totally lacking. We travelled as part of a group and the receptionist/owner acted as if we were just an annoyance as opposed to valuable guests in the quieter part of the season. When any of of goup asked for assistance (which ranged from having 1 towel per person as popposed to 1 per 2 people to having a cup of coffee in the hotel bar) they were treated with distain.

The apartments have only 2 room keys and this is more than inconvenient when you consider 4 people of differing skiing ability are sharing apartments. The beds and pillows were one of the most unconfortable i have stayed on. The slope side rooms have a lovely view but only have paper blinds so are bright all night which makes it difficult to sleep in.

If you want to stay in this area I would recommend the Hotel Elizabeth which is just down the road and has the most helpful staff and ownership.
