This was our second time returning to Hotel Park. We could not praise the management and staff enough. From the minute we booked to the day of our departure they were extremely helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. On our arrival we were offered dinner, and to our amazement the restaurant staff remembered us from our previous stay, they even remembered where we were seated. The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom was modern, and most importantly the shower pressure was excellent - for anyone that has gone skiing before knows a powerful shower is extremely important after a day spent on the slopes. The location of this hotel is perfect. The Gondola is only a 2 minute walk away and i guarantee you, you will be happy of this in the morning as the boots and ski's can get a little annoying to be carrying about. The food was amazing. The breakfast was buffet, and had plenty of choice. By the end of the week, Sonya would even have the coffee on the table once she saw you pottering around the buffet area. Seppi the Hotel owner or the "Host" he likes to be known as goes over and above to ensure you have a great stay. On Tuesday night he brings guest around the town showing them places of interest and on Wednesday night he brings you tabogoning which is so much fun. We cannot as a group recommend this hotel highly enough. Go for it you will not regret it.

This was our first trip to St Johann in the Tirol. This is a well located hotel literally a five minute walk to the slopes and it has its own secured ski and boot room, no need to use the facilities at the Bergbahn. The initial warm and genuine welcome at reception from Anita was maintained by all staff throughout the week whether in the reception, bar or restaurant.

The room we had was in the older part of the hotel and was facing onto the main road. Although we did experience road noise most nights from passing traffic and people returning in the early hours from the town this did not have a major impact on our stay.

The room was large, clean and spacious for two people and was warm. During the week we did have an issue with a ceiling ventilator which fell from the toilet ceiling due to wear and tear. We reported this issue to reception and emergency repairs were made that evening to minimise any further damage and prevent water loss. A full repair was made the next day replacing the ventilator and re plastering the toilet ceiling. This work was carried out whilst we were skiing and caused no disruption to our holiday. However Seppi the owner apologised profusely for the incident and potential inconvience to us and we were happy to receive his offer of a free bottle of wine.

This is how problems should be dealt with, with the minimum of fuss, quickly and professionally always having the wishes and concerns of the customer as the priority. An excellent quality service. Its not what the nature of the problems is, it is the way that it is dealt with that is important and if it leaves a good or bad impact on the paying guest.

The food in the restaurant was of a very high quality with plenty options for all including a vegetarian option each day. The portions were what you expect in Austria, plentiful and wholesome. The prices for good quality Austrian house wines and local beer were cheaper than their equivalent in the UK. The staff were helpful and friendly and the service we received from Sonja and Vonda exceptional.

The owners of the hotel the Family Grander have their roots in St Johann and know what is important to guest. Seppi the owner goes out his way to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay and personally speaks to most guests each day either in the reception or in the bar at night where he is available every day to have an informal chat about your day.

This is a very friendly hotel in a small friendly family orientated Ski Resort with lots of local skiing available for all levels....we will be back.

Room Tip: Rooms on the main road side do suffer from road noise if you are a light sleeper. But these rooms do...

This was our second ski trip to St Johann. On the previous occasion we stayed at the Fischer and had been 100% happy with everything about the hotel. Older son spent so long humming and hawing about whether he would come with us that by time went to book all the cheaper rooms at the Fischer were gone. Ironically the cheapest option for us was an eaves room at the Park. As we knew it was run by the same family though we would try it. I was expecting a small eaves room for 2-4 but what we got was a two room suite with shower. Ok it did not have a balcony but was very spacious with loads of room to store/dry stuff. All the furniture looked new and although perhaps some would say the bathroom was a bit dated it did the job.We were made very welcome by all the staff and nothing seemed to much trouble. Food in the restaurant was 1st class with plenty of variety as well as extensive salad and cheese buffet. There was even an apres ski snack !New Year's Eve Meal was superb preceded by a welcome drink in the bar which was a nice touch.Other big plus about the hotel is the location - close to slopes and great ski hire shop.Hotel ski storage was spacious and never seemed too busy. We also went on Seppi's Torchlight walk from the hotel around St Johann. This was great way to see other bits of the town which after a day's skiing you never quite get round to exploring.Another must is to have a beer at the top of the Huber Brewery and watch night fall over this beautiful town ! Certainly hope to go back to St Johann - decision about where to stay will be tough !

Room Tip: Although our room was on the road side of hotel did not bother us.

We have just returned from a weeks skiing holiday and it was one of the best ski holidays we have had , the service from all the staff was excellent , the food was amazing and we really looked forward to our meal every evening, you also got an apres ski snack some lovely hot soup and sandwich when you came in off the mountain between 4pm and 5pm , the hotel is in an ideal position for the slopes , and although our room was an eves room and had not been modernised we loved it , the hotel is quiet and relaxing and it's a short easy walk into the main square which is really pretty. I would highly recommend this hotel,to me it was perfect and i will be returning in the future

Rooms are clean, tidy and spacious with more than enough storage. All staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Always smiling and acknowledge you as you pass. The staff in the restaurant were brilliant, they provided a prompt service at the table, with a smile! The food was amazing. I think the best food I have had at a hotel stay. The kids could choose not to have a course if they did not want it but actually ate pretty much everything! (Aged 11 to 15)
It was a real pleasure to stay at this hotel, very comfortable and it was easy to relax, the kids were comfortable too, which helps.
The location of this hotel was perfect for the slopes. It was a short walk up a slight hill to get to the main gondola. The ski hire shop is next door, a totally painless, quick experience. The storage lockers are located in the basement of hotel. Every morning was quick and easy to access the equipment and then get cracking and every evening was the same. Never a crush of people. Brilliant. You could get a lock for your ski slot which meant you were in the same place everyday, helpful with kids and saves time. I would most definitely recommend this hotel. There were a few guests who had been previously - speaks volumes.
Must add we did not use any spa, solarium or pool etc. No time. Too busy skiing so can not comment on these things.

Just returned from a weeks ski trip (4 adults and 4 kids aged 11 to 15) over New Year staying at the Gasthof Park. Great location, very comfortable, excellent food and friendly staff.
It's located just a couple of minutes walk from the gondola and right next to the ski hire (which was also very good!). Our rooms were in the older part of the hotel and we'd read a few reviews suggesting some of the rooms were 'tired'....not our experience. The rooms were spotlessly clean and warm with very comfy beds and although the tiles in the bathrooms were a little dated in style, there was endless hot water and a decent size bath so the decor was irrelevant!
The food was excellent. Breakfast was a buffet (which never ran out) including a wide range of breads, cheeses, cold meats, fruits, yoghurts etc as well as scrambled eggs, bacon and boiled eggs. Dinner was an excellent 4 courses plus a salad buffet (lovely!) and cheese buffet - sadly, we never managed to get to cheese! There was a choice of 3 main courses with set starter, soup & dessert - with lots of variety.
The hotel is run by the Grander family who were very hospitable and welcoming. The staff throughout all areas of the hotel were just as friendly and warm but the restaurant staff deserve a special mention for their great service and good humour.
We would certainly return this hotel and recommend it without hesitation.

I booked a pre season deal with Crystal ski with a free six day lift pass and B&B accomodation at the Pension Mair but was upgraded to the hotel Park! My allocated room 308 was large and comfortable with a nice bathroom. I opted to pay for the evening meal which was 15 euros and I must say the standard and quality of the food was excellent. There were four courses plus a side salad and after a day on the piste it was most welcome. The Crystal ski reps Jen, Rick and Brendan were extremely friendly and caring as were the staff of the hotel, Herr Grander (manager), Anita (receptionist), Sonia, Yannis and another middle aged gent (waiters) whose name escapes me! The local people are extremely friendly and helpful and although having never been to Austria before I will definitely return to St Johann and the Hotel park which is ideally situated for the gondola. Just be aware that pre season the ski buses are not running as were a lot of the ski lifts but there were no crowds so you had the mountains to yourself ! All in all an excellent holiday.
