We spent a lovely 6 days in St.johann in tyrol skiing in their slopes, and a friend booked us there, and it was really a lovely pension, value for money in high season!spacious and clean rooms, balcony, heat, quite adequate breakfast for a pension, and friendly atmosphere!Nice overall in the high season in Austria!the only problem was that the tv was opposite to the bed!
Other than that no problem. There is a frequent bus route to the Skislopes, and if you wish you can take a taxi for 6 euro to get there!Excellent food in the village taverns, and reasonable prices!Try the gordon bleue!!

Room Tip: ask for a voucher(from the reception) for the excellent public swimming pool!!you will love it

We have been here for 10 nights in a double room with our newborn daughter Camilla and the dog.
First the pension is very well located on a quiet road but only few steps from the main square of the town.
We were in unit 205 and the view of Kaiser mountain is outstanding in the morning and at dusk.
The pension is just on the Promenade, which is a pedestrian/cycling path surrounding Sankt Johann.
The breakfast buffet is very healthy and included in the affordable room rate, as well as the entrance to the town pull, which is a must to do in Sankt Johann.
Additionally, the building is equipped with a lift tha is very usefull if you have a stoller to carry every day up and down from 2nd floor.
The pension has a parking lot shared with other pensions, shouldn't be an issue.
Birgit runs the business, she is very nice and she speaks German, English and Italian.
We couldn't stay better in Sankt Johann.
Thanks Birgit!

I have just returned from a long weekend in St Johann with my girlfriend, this is probably our 6th or 7th visit to the resort over the past 5 years as it is an easy place to get to from Salzburg for a long weekend. You can get Andi's taxi service (bookable on line) for a collection from the airport to resort for 30 euro per person each way, this is sometimes a taxi share, if the roads are clear takes less than one hour.

Pension Obermoser is family run but Birgit is front of house host and she is very hospitable, she speaks immaculate English and Italian I believe, rooms are quite basic but spotlessly clean (as is the whole place). The bathrooms in my experience do not have baths just very good hot showers and are again spotless, there are TV's in the rooms but no English speaking channels. All rooms in my experience do have a balcony and this does act as a good beer fridge as there is no fridge in the room (but there is a communal fridge downstairs for all to use). Also no tea and coffee in room but you can always ask for from Birgit but this is chargeable. In the basement is a boot room with heaters and also a very good shower room that we were able to use to wash after returning on our last day as our room was taken. Breakfast are very good and typical Austrian, tea, coffee, juice, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, bread, ham, meats, eggs, spreads, jams etc., as much as you want and all delivered with a smile.

Resort is fine for beginners /intermediates, advanced skiers may find it a little too easy but there is enough for a long weekend, week is a stretch but you can ski at Fiebberbrun which is very close by a north facing mountain on the same lift pass, the ski bus takes you there from the train station FOC but service is not that regular either way and a taxi is about 15 euro. There is some slightly more advanced skiing available at Fiebberbrun, I believe you can also ski Waidring on the same pass which is equally as close.

In the village there are a couple of decent bars and I recommend the Poste Hotel to eat and Paul's wine bar for a more relaxed apres ski scene.

All in all highly recommend the resort and Pension Obermoser and will continue to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain facing room for a better balcony view.
