“Great little hotel with friendly staff”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

The Grieshof hotel is a lovely small hotel. The staff are great and very friendly. I can't fault them.

Rooms - Fantastic quality, very comfortable
Staff - All so friendly and helpful
Food - REALLY good. Did not have one bad meal
Spa/pool - Lovely and warm, fantastic.
Ski facilities - Lovely boot room and have a deal with a shop by the ski lifts, where you can leave your ski's/boots rather than taking them back to the hotel each day.

This hotel is lovely, I really could not fault it.

Room Tip: All rooms I saw were great

Recently my group (12 skiers age 40-52) stayed here for a week. You can read the other reports, but in a nutshell: this is a great place and you will like staying here. Highly recommended, clean, quiet, friendly.

I am a regular in St Anton and either stay at the Grieshof or the Post. The post is larger and excellent, but being central, can be noisy (revellers in the main street) right into the early hours. The Grieshof suffers none of this and is perhaps less than 2 minutes away. Although range of fare on offer is by necessity less than the Post (can be an advantage) the food is the same quality and service is excellent. As are all the staff. Excellent traditional Austrian hotel and service to match.

Room Tip: Never has a poor one

We stayed for one week including Christmas. We are a family of 4 with two boys 17 and 19. This is a great hotel, great location and excellent food. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Only a short walk to the lift where we free of charge could leave skies and boots. Just so convenient. The rooms are large and very clean. This was a great vacation and we defiantly recommend this hotel. This is going to be a Christmas we will remember.

Our family loves to ski, so we had 2 requirements - walking distance to the lifts and a jacuzzi for post skiing relaxation. Hotel Grieshof was so much more. The hotel was near all the shops and the lifts and bus stop. We left our skis and boots at the ski rental shop 100 yards from the lift. It was a 3 min walk from the hotel to the ski shop. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We had the Valluga Suite which was extremely spacious and clean. The food was exceptional and the chef accomodated for my daughter's love of spaetzle and cutlet very night. For adults we had a 4 course meal every night including a great salad bar. We are from NY so we know good food and never do an all inclusive with dinner but I'm glad we did this time. The wellness area was very clean, the jacuzzi held 5-6 people and the pool was big enough for the kids to splash around. We would definitely stay here again. Of course the skiing was AWESOME and for intermediate to expert skiers -lots of off-piste skiing and plenty of groomers too. We took the bus to Lech/Zurs for some skiing over there one day - good skiing there too -very busy b/c of Feb break.

We are group of 12 men booked the hotel in aug 2011. The hotel Is not cheap 308 eur per nIght. Two guys ordered upgrade room with an extra
200 eur per week and got almost the sane room with a balcony with office view. We would expect lower price for that room
The room are large and mOst of us got separte toilets and bathroom exept one. The tv in the room ate very old and couldn't use a streame because they event didn't have RCA sockets. O would expect hd tv for the price they charged. The cleaning was ok but soups weren't replaced every day.
The food was nice not superb (like laurain hotel in Val Gardena ) with variety of main courses and salads bouffe. The main issue is the prices of water(6 eur per bouttle ) and wines. The prices started at 30 and climed up to 50. We asked if we could bring our own wine with extra pay for opening of it but got refusal answer. we drank only simple water. Breakfast was nice but the dining room is a bit crowded. The spa is very good but personally I prefer hotter water in the jacouzy .
The hotel supply free wifi connection in the rooms which I think is very handy . They also supply the option to keep ski equipment in the store closed to galzig cable free of charge. With VIP card the hotel guests have free access to picaddily club. The stuff in the hotel is very pleasant and mist of them speak English. With minor adjustments this hotel can be a pearl.

We stayed one week, half board with our Ski group from Whistler, BC, Canada. We requested a quiet room at the back with a large sitting area to do our daily stretches before skiing and we got exactly that. Room was clean, lovely, beds were firm, bathroom large, especially for Europe. Maid did an excellent job on the daily cleaning. We ate breakfast and the five course dinner special with our group in the dining room each day. I would rate the food as 8 out of ten with lots of choices and fresh food options. Staff was professional, well presented and very helpful. Negatives - the entire hotel including the dining room and our bedroom was too hot! We turned off our heat in the bedroom and left the windows open during dinner so that the room was cool enough to sleep. I wore short sleeves or sleeveless tops at breakfast and dinner. And the hotel allows smoking in the lobby lounge and bar. Very disgusting smell when you walked through the lobby. Other friends of ours who did not request a quiet room endured loud noise until e wee hours of the night as they were in the front of the hotel or on the side where to path to the main street was. Other negative was that the wine in the dining room is quite expensive. Some members of our group only drank beer for this reason. St Anton is truly a lovely village with delightful people. We hope to return!

Room Tip: Definitely email in advance and request a quiet, non smoking room in the back of the hotel.
