Valluga Hotel
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 15, 2013

We spent 4 nights at the Valluga in early February. The hotel check in was the quickest ever and upon arriving at our room (no 26) we were soo pleased, it was a mammoth size, extremely comfortable beds, fantastic view over the slopes, seating area, balcony, everything we could have wished for and more.
The lounges in the hotel were restful and the one with the pool table became a great place in the evening when you could choose records on the 'record player' and chill out on the leather sofas.
The staff were fantastic, friendly and could not do enough for you.
Breakfast was plentiful, they had aabout 9 fresh fruit juices, fruit cereal, hot cooked eggs of your choice with bacon, meats, cheese, endless selection.
Dinner was wonderful, we were a group of 26 and it all came out together and hot, attention to detail spot on, starter salad bar fab, lovely amuse bouches to start you off and always a fish or meat dish for main. The wine was also very good.
Had a spa treatment which was lovely and the facilities in the spa were really nice.
St Anton is very pretty and the Moosevirt for some apres ski is a must!!

Room Tip: Room 26 was much larger than some of the others with great views of the slopes.

We spent a week at the Valluga over the new year period. Having stayed at both fantastic sister hotels we had high hopes and were not disappointed! Amazing food, fantastic staff, comfy beds, great wine, lovely atmosphere. Hotel is in a quiet location in the lovely resort of st anton. Facilities for winter sport equipment were great - heated boot racks - lovely! Hope to return next winter.

Design hotel with super style. Scandinavian design and functionality. Elegant, cosy with class, the spa is outstanding. In the restaurant you will get great food and service. The very best you can find in Tirol. Having compared with the best 5 star places - this beats them all.

First thing to say is that the hotel was fully refurbished 2 years ago so ignore any reviews pre Dec 2010. Contemporary hotel with good sized rooms, plenty of chill out areas including a pool table. Great location just 4 or 5 mins walk from the resort centre and set back from the main street and pedestrianised street so it's nice quiet location. Staff very friendly and food very good. Wholeheartedly recommend.

I was the first guest to stay in this hotel and loved it. The hotel has captured the unique welcoming and comfy yet stylish ambience of its sister hotel in Mallorca (Swedish/Spanish) with that extra touch of Austrian. The food was simply fabulous and the wine which was included of a great standard. Well equipped bedrooms (with beds to die for), a small but perfectly formed spa and cosy public areas made this a joy to stay at. The hotel is near to the shops and restaurants and a five minute walk to the main ski lift. I stayed out of season which is a fabulous time to enjoy the resort.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel enjoy great views on to the mountains and have small balconies.

We were fortunate to stay in this wonderful hotel for an Easter ski break and were hugely impressed. It has clearly been recently renovated and both the decor and furnishings are of the highest standard. Our family suite was perfect- comfortable beds, plenty of storage space and a luxurious bathroom. The hotel has a superb wellness area- a must after a hard day of skiing - featuring saunas, steam room, solarium and a beautiful relaxation area.
The restaurant was exceptional and understandably popular with a perfect blend of excellent food and superb, knowledgeable service. Whilst I generally make it a rule to avoid hotel restaurants, this was one I would travel to eat in such was the quality of food and service.
The hotel owners were utterly charming and clearly have a passion for their trade. This is reflected in the quality of the staff who were courteous, friendly and helpful at all times. The restaurant staff deserve particular credit for their quiet professionalism - always there when you need them but never intrusive. Just the way they should be and a lesson to many other restaurants.
Our stay at the Valluga was perfect- as was the skiing in St.Anton- and we very much look forward to returning next season.

Room Tip: The family suites are superb - spacious and luxurious accomodation for two adults and two children
