I have just spent 6 days here and loved every moment. Originally booked a room only on line and on arrival was offered an upgrade to half board (halb pension) which I took. As it turned out this was a good move, the food and restaurant service was excellent. St Anton is a small place and restaurants not linked to other hotels are limited to a couple of pizzeria's and a Chinese restaurant.

Our room was excellent and by far the biggest we have had in our 5 city European tour so far.

Internet was free but limited to one device log in at a time.

Hotel is a short walk from the railway station. (Don't rely on Google maps which does not recognise a couple of the pedestrian lanes)

After a morning on the mountains we had a swim in the hotel pool each afternoon and then caught the last of the day's sunshine on the sun terrace.

This hotel is not worthy of its 4star rating and clearly is very shabby (certainly not shabby chic!) and in great need of some TLC.When shown to our room the lift was a great indication of what was awaiting us in the hotel, worn carpet, adorned with messages stuck up with celotape. On arriving at our room my first reaction was that the carpet was wet until my husband advised me it weas just thread bare! Yellow sheets, chipped furniture and an extremly tired bathroom completing the scene. The staff were not the usual well presented Austrian dressed that we have been acustomed to greeting us and really they too set the scene of the standard of the hotel. We did not stay and requested to see the Manager who did not appear and we were left in the hands of the poor receptionist who tried but made the classic mistake of suggesting that perhaps the hotel was too dear for us as my husband had made the comment that the rate for the room did not reflect its standard. We left and thank goodness for the Raffls St Anertof a truly worthy 5 star hotel where we paid more but deservedly so!

We chose this hotel for its location and spa.The location is very good, however we were disappointed with the spa.The pool was very small and it only needed one selfish swimmer to make it unusable and this happened several times.
The worst thing about our stay was the food.It was exactly what you don't need after skiing.Arty farty small portions on huge plates and not well cooked.I sent a steak back as it was underdone. It was returned burnt to crispand inedible how insulting
The Head waiter was extremely rude and unhelpful. When we asked at reception if they could tell us the numbers of the English channels on the tv we got a curt don't know.
All in all we will not be returning and would suggest there are better Hotels to go to in St Anton.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front very noisy pay extra for a junior suite at the back if you can get a good deal.

My Husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. We were extremely pleased with the hotel. Although our room was small it had everything we needed. The spa was great after a day on the slopes. The 5 course dinners exceeded our expectations for both quality and quantity. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The heated boot racks were a luxury and the hotel is smack bang in the middle of the village with only a short walk to the slopes. My only complaints would be that it was a little noisy at 3am as people leave the clubs and the skiiers snacks between 3.30 and 5.30 are a little sparse with no free hot drinks. But without a doubt I would return to this hotel. One tip is that we didnt realise that you can order the "Austrian Specialities" instead of the normal main course when you order your evening meal. Thanks for a great week Hotel Alte Post!

We had a great week at this property. Location is as good as it gets, food was unbeleivably great, service overall world class. The front desk is extremely professional and savvy. Wait staff will cater to your every need, and any other hotel support was world class. Pricing is a little more than others but worth it. try this place next time you are there.
.. and St.Anton is a fairy tale ski resort. Not sure how it gets better than this.

Room Tip: we stayed in 201.. choose a different room. you can smell bar smoke.

Two times in a row we have visited Hotel Alte Post.
It was with great pleasure to stay with 20 women!!
Frau Monika was excellent in solving every problem and providing service to meet every wish possible.
The Hotel is mid-town. Around the corner (you do not need a jacket) there is the POST Keller (disco). Skiing down from the Mooserwirt is even possible in the dark for those who hardly master a blue piste.
At the hotel, the swimming pool and wellness area is suberb. The bar is boring. Food is excellent. For diner and breakfast, we had a 'Stube' for ourselves and that was good for the other guests as 20 women can make a lot of noise.
The beds are not always large enough

Room Tip: Rooms overviewing the pistes are better than on the street side
