Visited at March 2013, the town is very nice. We very enjoyed our stay.
The town has training station connected to Vienna and Zurich and it makes arriving to it very convenient and cheap.
The city taxis, are also large and convenient but some drivers does not know the location of the hotels and the street names.
Most of the turists lives on the main street of the city, the city center and most of the restaurants are also located on it.
The ski site is not so big - it's enough for good skier at about 3-4 days to cross it all and after that you need to take the ski bus to another sites such as Lech.
On the ski site there are a lot of good cafes and restaurants.
In the town the prices are at about 10-20 euros for main dish in the restaurant. I think this is common price in all Europe.
If you came in the town with big group you must order places in the restaurant otherwise you'll have to wait for about half hour/hour.

We went to St Anton to snowboard /ski. The area was beautiful. It was well connected between the neighbouring valleys and peaks. Tourism is well established and hospitality well laid out. I'm definitely going back.

Just returned from a week long ski trip to St. Anton and I was very diappointed. For the timeframe we were in town, Feb 24th - Mar 1, the skiing was similar to any bad ski day in Vermont. The runs that were machine groomed were skied off by 9:30 am every day, leaving nothing but pure hard pack, and the off piste areas were impossible to navigate since the surface had frozen, but not enough to hold your weight, so you'd break through. Very poor ski condition reporting as well. Most days conditions were reported as "excellent" or "perfect" but that was hardly the case.

The lift lines were RIDICULOUS with no regard for fellow skiers. There are no line attendants so it's a free-for-all with the most obnoxious and rude people I've ever encountered. People will step over you, under you, and do whatever it takes to push you out of the way so they can get on the chairlift 10 seconds before you. There is no understanding that the person in front of you gets on the chair BEFORE you do. So rude and inconsiderate and I simply can't understand why, because if you see these same people at happy hour or at dinner, they are lovely to engage.

The happy hours are fun, but you do not want to be on the slopes much after 4PM because there are so many drunk people trying to ski down from the happy hour locations located on the mountain side. Of course, the longer you wait, the more dangerous it becomes, but if you are already at the bottom, it can be quite funny to watch these stupid people trying to navigate their final ski run.

Restaurants are bars allow smoking indoors so if you don't like to breathe in second hand smoke, stay away. As a non smoker, I found these locations impossible to spend any time at and it was annoying to be outside at table for lunch, only to have four or more people sit down next to you and light up.

The buses to the various ski areas around St. Anton are run quite well, but are very crowded so expect to stand the 30 minutes or so to your destination. Not really difficult because you are packed in like sardines in a can!

Rental equipment is available mountain side and the equipment is okay. We rented "premium" equipment, but it was several years old. They do allow you to exchange skis if you are unhappy and they will also sharpen your edges as many times as needed without any additional charges.

If you are considering a trip to St. Anton, do yourself a favor - save the $$$ and plan your ski trip to Colorado, Utah, California, Wyoming, Montana or even New England instead. You won't miss a thing, will be treated much better, have a safer experience and have the most incredible ski conditions, whether you prefer groomed or ungroomed slopes. I'm sorry to say that St. Anton is highly overrated and I wish I had know than before I invested my money and my vacation time.

Nice resort to travel with the family. Lot of ski slopes and lifts functiuoning well. Bus service between St Anton and Lech is good except too grouded, even dangerous for children.
The real disapointment was the swimbad and the service there. We had hired one towel for father and two children to use together. The guard came and grapped the towel from the child's hand shouting somethinf in germany what we didn't understand. You don't do such a think for a child or even anyone. Please be aware how your staff is behaving towards cutomers!
