This was the second time we stayed with Rainer and his family. The first without kids the second time with our 4 and 6 year olds. The customer service, ambience, rooms, breakfast and its traditional Austrian culture are amazing. This is the best service we have ever received in a hotel and it makes you feel like you are he most special person staying. Rainer was always around to have a chat and teach the kids how to speak German (correctly), he also organised takeaways for us if the kids crashed early. The rest of the staff were also really lovely, Rainer's mum fussed lovingly over all the kids and provided the most efficient laundry service ever experienced. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and the rooms were cleaned immaculately every day. I cant express what a little special nugget this place is but we will be returning! We didnt manage to get the recipe but also make sure you try the homeade Goualsh and strudel!!

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Ernst Falch. The hotel is clean, and the rooms are a good size with plenty of storage space. There are nice views over the town and the surrounding mountains. It is a very traditonal, quiet, cosy family run hotel, with a lovely atmosphere.

The hotel is located a short distance from the Nasserein lift you can either walk down (about 10 mins with ski boots on) or you can get the bus which runs every half an hour at peak times. You can also ski down most of the way. You can ski back at the end of the day, but we didn't do this much as usually went for an apres ski drink.

Rainer was brilliant, he couldn't have been more helpful providing us with information about the town, pistes, restaurants, guides etc. He was the nicest, most helpful hotel manager we have ever come across, not just in the alps, but in any of the hundreds of hotels we have stayed in across the world. He appeared to be omnipresent in the hotel throughout our stay, and even got up at 0530 the morning of our departure to offer us breakfast and ensure our taxi arrived on time! Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and obliging.

The breakfasts were ample, the standard european continental breakfast, juices, youghurts,
cereals, fruits, and a large selection of hams, cheeses, breads and rolls. Fresh coffee and OJ served to the table, along with free range boiled eggs. It was provided at sensible hours, from 0730 to 1030, for those that didnt want to hit the slopes too early.

The town is outside of the hustle and bustle so a nice refuge if you are there more for the skiing than the partying. However it is an easy walk into the town centre to sample the restaurants and nightlife (about 15 mins walk).

We had a fantastic stay and would love to come back again.

A group of 8 of us stayed here - Rainer (Manager) and his staff were all excellent, very attentive, and informative about the town, restaurants, bars, and skiing.

The rooms were all very comfortable, each with a large balcony, and the TVs even had English speaking channels (not that we were there to watch TV, but nonetheless a nice treat). The breakfasts were also brilliant. No dinners at the hotel, so we ate in the town every night.

The hotel is a 5 min walk from the bottom of the Narsserain lift, and you can ski to the hotel at the end of the day via the piste under that lift - very handy. The hotel also has a Sauna/relax room which is great after a long day on the slopes!

Money well spent at Hotel Falch - 100% recommend it!

Hotel: Lots of alpine wood, decorated with old skiing artifacts, situated up the top of Nasserein which means nice view over the rest of the village and valley, down to the neighbouring villages.

Rooms: Alpine style wooden beds, spacious and very comfortable, very clean rooms, large windows with great views, cable tv.

Food: Its a garni hotel so rooms are priced only for breakfast (frustuck). The breakfasts are continental (breads/cheeses etc.) and more than adequate to kick start the day. For night meals, Nasserein has its own restaurants, but if you want to go out at night into the centre of St Anton, its a comfortable and pleasant stroll into the main center (blizzards notwithstanding). Its too short for a taxi ride home...unless you've really hit the jagermeister or gluhwein hard.

Location: Up on the top of the Nasserein village, and if its Jan/Feb/March there's usually enough snow to ski down to the lift. Otherwise its a fairly short walk down the road to the lift (from memory probably about 100-200 metres). Nasserein is pretty much part of St Anton anyway, but it is big enough and has its own identity, and as a result has its own ski lifts and sports stores for equipment hire and clothing.

Hosts: I found the Falch family to be very warm and hospitable, and their guest book really does have loads of repeat guests from over the years. Just for extra interest, they also happen to have a pedigree skiing history. Ernst Falch was part of the Austrian ski team in the 60s and there are some fascinating articles, medals and other paraphenalia in the hotel reception. Son Martin has won various medals at the Paralympic Games and is a world paralympic triathlete champion. Other son Rainer was also a champion Arlberg skier and has coached world cup skiers. We got some great tips from them about skiing around the region.

A warm welcome from Rainer, manager of this family run hotel, set the mood for our 4 day stay in St Anton. We are a group of three mates (males aged 29) and having a hotel which provides a retreat at the end of a hard days skiing and après is very important to us. Hotel Falch exceeded our expectations.

Rainer, very modest in his manner, is a ski champion and ex-trainer of the international team. The main restaurant area has a trophy cupboard full to the brim. A lovely backdrop to the hotel which has the warmth of a family home, whilst maintaining the feel of a hotel.

Hotel Falch is a traditional Austrian hotel in the Nasserain district of St Anton. The Nasserain region offers ski-to-door and is about a 10 minute walk from the main bar/restaurant area. Taxis are abundant and only cost 10 euros from the main strip.

The rooms are well appointed. We shared a triple room which was well sized with a pleasant bathroom. The television also had Sky Sports which provided an added bonus.

It is difficult to fault the Falch. The breakfast was excellent (traditional), the sauna area downstairs clean and well maintained and the staff fantastic. The hotel also has great views of the mountains.

We look forward to visiting Hotel Falch again and being looked after by Rainer and his team. If I had to make a small request for next year’s stay it would be to ask for the shower to have a wall bracket.
