Been there for a ling week end with colleagues.
Clean and efficient. Good location for piste access but we were unlucky with the weather and had to take a bus to st anton (beware buses run only once an hour!!)
Service rather cold and notvery attentive.
Decor is overdone.
Spa good but too small for the crowd.
Great spacious room with plenty of wardrobe storage.
Food no more than ok. Aperitives mid afternoon quite poor.
Overall good but for the four stars quality if service, food and attention to details have to step up!

just coming back from a one week holiday with my wife and 6 month old. here is what i think:

price: very good value considering you are getting basically full board (breaky, afternoon tea, dinner), fantastic spa area, and we seemed lucky with our room that had a 180 degree view right into the picturesque mountains of st. christoph - been to many places but this view was top draw!
food: excellent breaky with free flow, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs of your choice, a variety of delicious honeys to choose from, pastranomy galore, ... to name just a few things that make breaky excellent. dinner i would rate as 'good' as the chef seems to have a heavy hand with the salt at times. also, the deserts seemed a bit overambitious with the simple local dishes such as 'kaiserschmarrn' outshining the fancy 'chocolate spagetthi with ...'.
staff: very helpful and friendly, always smiling. would have liked to tip them if there was a tip box :)
all in all we had a blast. would definitly go there again!

Room Tip: stayed in 219 and the view was fantastic!

The hotel is not far away from the skislopes but even with snow up to the hotel, it's not easy to go and come back by skiing. It's however well located with great views and a nice terrace when the weather allows it. There are different sort of rooms and you need to be lucky to be in the good (big and nice) one as the others are small and older. We were in a small family room and with 5 in total, the difference is big in comparison with the newer and bigger rooms (that they claim to be the same). Ask well in advance what kind of room you will get.
Food is delicious and accompanied wine is perfect though on the expensive side.
Spa/welness is ok with great relax place on first floor.

I would like to like this hotel, but frankly it is just way too much money for terrible rooms. The suites that they touted sleep 2 couples actually have a pull out couch to suffice as a bed for almost $2K a night! The staff is rude, curt and unhelpful and the hotel is superbly understaffed. The food is really good - breakfast and dinner. And the ski in aspect of this hotel is somewhat of a farce, it' a trek to ski into this hotel, not a leisurely end of the day run.

Room Tip: one couple per room - no "suites"

My husband and I just got back from the Alpenhotel after a short 4 day stay for our anniversary. We loved it and would definitely book again. It is a small family run hotel so it seemed quite cozy and the staff were very helpful. We had a slight problem when we checked in (not the Alpenhotel's fault) and they were VERY accommodating and we had to move to another hotel for our first night. They shuttled us down to the other hotel, came and picked us up for dinner, took us back after dinner and then collected our luggage the next morning and delivered to our room. I know this was a lot of work for them but they were very friendly about it. Joseph especially was helpful and also the owner, Elisabeth.

Food was amazing and the staff is very friendly - they have a very creative chef and we always had a nice variation each night.

My only slight complaint would be the "ski in". Ski out was OK, albeit a very steep, quite narrow hill straight to the lift. However the ski in took a bit of work. Even with speed coming down the mountain you would not be able to reach the hotel without some serious arm pumping or the easier option of taking off your skis and walking the last 50 meters. It wasn't terrible but would have been nice to have a bit more of a slope to finish the day. It certainly wasn't enough to make me not come again.

Overall a really great short break and we will definitely go back!!

What should have been a fabulous holiday - staying in a charming hotel was turned into a nightmare by rude owners.

The location of the hotel cannot really be described as ski in ski out especially with youngsters. Should the owners pay attention to these reviews (doubtful) a magic carpet up the steep slope to the chair lift should be considered.

The food in the hotel is really very good, with an experimental chef who consistently delivers.

The spa in the hotel is good though misses a swimming pool and the brouchure is slightly misleading on this front.

The whole package woould be good but what really lets the whole package down are the owners who are plain rude and economic with the truth. Charm and customer complaint handling were clearly not on the Hotel course they attended. Had it not been of the owners I would have recommended this hotel but I cannot for ts reason alone.
